I see it slightly differently to be honest.

If the manager is happy with his squad, then we'll have had a decent pre-season together with plenty of time before the season starts.

After last years over spend on players, it didn't start or finish too well (wasn't terrible either going by points haul), but my point being we'll be much more settled as anyone new coming in will take a few weeks to get used to club and teammates.

A positive!
I can see where you are coming from but my main frustration is the fact that we made deals 2 weeks ago and absolutely nothing has happened on any of those fronts since then. Oh maybe its just the window madness or the lack of Spurs football getting to me.

Right now I'd take signing what seem to be our two main targets on deadline day.

We'll be kicking of the season as we are, irrespective of who comes in between now and then.

I was speaking to a close friend last night who plays for QPR, and Harry's interest in Andros is real and Remy to us is part of their thinking. Not ITK, nor anything that hasn't already been widely reported, but I thought I'd share none the less.

Unless you sit on Daniel Levy's lap, in his office, then none of us can assume nothing is happening.

Even if we signed someone before the season started, there is pretty much zero chance they'd walk into the team. Poch plays to a well drilled system, he's not going to throw some newbie into it and have them disrupt what's been worked on for the last 6 weeks.

Also, there isn't a single club that hasn't been linked to an absurd amount of players. We're not a special case.
Its just the frustrating number of "all but done deals". The team as a starting unit is very good and I am happy with it, but as of now, I want to see one of these deals actually completed.

All I'm asking for is a reassurance that these deals are actually getting done and we won't end up with another Willian style piece of fuckery this season with Musacchio or Yedlin

Other than a shiny new signing to boost moral of some Spurs people who get fedup with seeing other club spend fortunes on new shiny players. I really want to see the current squad given time.
We do need to thin the squad numbers down.

MS and MM would be great, not imperative.

We go through all this angst every window you would think we would learn. I'm getting to old for this crap.....but I cant stop....shiny new signings are a drug.

The point is are you happy with what is basically last seasons squad. The defence for instance letting in multiple sets of goals. Oh, and we didn't overspend on players we made a Levy type profit.

MM is imperative, MS not so much. If or should I say when Kaboul breaks again, we'll be reliant on Dier whom although very impressive against Schalke, they were pretty toothless in attack, the prem being a whole different story. Chiriches has yet to kick a ball and Dawson is a hell no, as is Fryers.

Wasn''t there ITK about releasing Vertonghen's new deal and MM at the same time? Hoping that because they haven't released Jan's new deal that there is a good chance of MM signing still...

shiny new signings are hope and its the hope that kills us ;)

Actually think we have a good and more balanced squad if a little high on numbers. Like the fact that soem of the younger lot seem to be getting a chance...makes it feel more like a club than a first team ala Madrid, Chelsea, City.

The fact that we havent spent the summer repelling other clubs after our star players is also quite nice

I have growing concerns on this...

Is it just me or do all of our transfer targets consistently end up being a long drawn out, ball ache of a process. Be nice to have at least one off season without 6 weeks of the 'will he, won't he' shite :banghead:
