Is it just me or do all of our transfer targets consistently end up being a long drawn out, ball ache of a process. Be nice to have at least one off season without 6 weeks of the 'will he, won't he' shite

No - l think we just get information ahead of the curve, so it just appears long and drawn out. I imagine most transfers take a while to conclude!

Actually think we have a good and more balanced squad if a little high on numbers. Like the fact that soem of the younger lot seem to be getting a chance...makes it feel more like a club than a first team ala Madrid, Chelsea, City.

The fact that we haven't spent the summer repelling other clubs after our star players is also quite nice

I agree - But we should though man up during the transfer window. As fans we tend to cry like babies when we dont get what we want.

But you would think we learned our lesson from that though, right? We can't announce we essentially have a deal done until it is ACTUALLY done. That is what I'm getting at. We have to walk with the player before we can run away with him.

i dont find it depressing, no one really knew who MM was a few months ago, im not getting worried or disappointed about him. MS would be nice but not the end of the world, we have demebele, sandro and Capoue, none have really been given a chance for a proper run in the team. Sandro injuries similar to dembele last season never recovered fully from that hip complaint he had. Our squad seems very balanced bar right back, dier can fill in there too. I think the ITK has dried as were at the business end, people holding up our deals i.e. players to be moved out not moved yet, so its business end i.e. Last week and day of the deadline. Our squad is very good, and Poch seems to be a good motivator and everyone seems to really like him and the respect he had from the Soton players (now mostly moved on) was very positive and i do not believe that to be hype like it was with AVB.

Relax peeps future looks bright!

It was never announced that we had a deal for Willian. An ITK or 2 said so, but that's why you A) Have to take ITK with a pinch of the proverbial, and B) Understand that with the best will in the world, their info although correct to their mind at the time, is subject to change due to factors that are not in thier control and which they may not be privvy to. Just like anything, really.

The only time something is 100% is when it is on the OS (With apologies to Stoof and his Stamp!)

Billy Sharp is leaving Southampton for Leeds so I guess the poster who knows Mr Sharp has lost his source to the southampton dressing room.
Shame as I think it's just getting interesting with Scheinderlin. As the deadline draws near, I am sure he'll be getting more desperate and therefore taking more drastic action.

Not sure about having 4 strikers. I'd prefer if Kane went there to get some games if Remy came in. The ideal situation for us would be a permanent transfer with a knock down price because we give them Kane on loan.

I don't see what benefit it would bring to loan Townsend out. We know he can perform in the prem. If he has a bad season it will just mean his value will diminish. We're better off just selling him while his stock is still relatively high.

Yes, very true. Hopefully Billy Sharp has at least made friends with someone at Southampton who can pass him on info. Or there is someone at Leeds who knows Morgan or someone else at Saints. Football community is quite small I guess!
