No. I care about actually strengthening and showing ambition. But we dont. We weaken instead.

Slightly worried as well, but let's see what happens. With our position, you know we were never going to make a big splash. I think you're truly upset because you aren't buying Ross Barkley. It makes me worry about myself that I'm leaning toward agreeing with you.

We just need to make some signings sharpish.

Everton sign a few decent players, sell their best player (and top goalscorer FFS) to Utd, but the general consensus is they are progressing, and quite a lot seem to be jealous of their activity.

Transfer window just puts the general fanbase on bipolar mode, twitter is horrific right now.

For me Walker is no where near the same category as Bale, Modric, Berba, etc...

Levy gets a pass on this one from me due to Poch being on board, sell anyone else and I'll rightly join the selling club meltdown.

I would like to think that we could see some incomings as early as next week.

Yes. But we need to be able to keep him. If a manager isnt getting his players and he sees his team weakening before his eyes by the chairman selling his better players, how long do you think he'll stick around?
I'd just like to remind you that in November you said Poch had 2 games to save his job. And you blamed him for the signings, claiming Levy had backed him. Make your mind up.

Everything will be fine. As usual.

I'm ok with Walker going, if he's not committed then it's a pointless exercise saying we shouldn't be selling him to a rival.
It's £50m+ for a 27yr old RB.
Scout well for a decent young replacement and let MP work his magic ala Trippier.

Sadly we are back to being a selling club now, and the likes of City, Chelsea and United will be circling around our top players with renewed confidence that they can force us to sell to them again.

More like City, Chelsea and United all circling around thinking 'they got £55m for Walker, how fucking much would they want for *insert any player here*

Towards the end of the season when it looked like he was going, we would've all been quite happy with £25m, the prices have gone crazy (Siggy)

Anyway, the only real issue would be the players themselves. Seeing Walker go for that kind of money may make a player like Rose* think 'if he's worth that much, i could be sold for £75m'. It could be an ego thing, it could be they get 10% of the transfer fee or it could be triple wages. Either way, until we start paying massive wages like the others in the top 6, then there's always that chance of losing great players every season.

* Rose has just bought a house in Chigwell next door to my mate's parents so he shouldn't be going anywhere yet.

We've already got a decent young replacement in KWP

I think what happens with Dier will be the marker of whether we are a selling club as i'd be extremely surprised if Poch considered him expendable. With Walker it's clearly been a decision that the manager is on board with.

If Dier is sold, then i'll definitely lose my shit and I suspect the majority of this forum will too.

Not only do I agree, but Trippier kinda came into his own in the second half. We also fail to realize this is a great opportunity for our young players to step in. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't until that West Ham 3-2 game, that we truly started to get our engines rolling. While Kyle is a phenomenal RB, I think this is a good piece of business.

Something to also keep in mind is his age and history of injuries. Not that I am saying that it will be something effecting this transfer, but regarding financials, this is the only time Levy would get his pretty penny from Walker. In fact, based on the idea that he was loaned out to Villa for half of what we initially paid for him (if my research is partially right), financially this is a no brainer.

Just hope Rose gets fit in time to play Shitty. Really scared at the thought of Davies facing Walker.

Although, if you show him the outside, and let him cross, you've played the percentages. Davies can do that no problem.

I know, I know, he's very good, and I'll miss him as I've really enjoyed his contributions, especially these last 2 years when he's been at the top of his game. His physicality is superb, and his speed, and his recovery and tackling. Final ball/end product, and especially crossing are his weakest points though, so we'll be fine with Rose or Davies.

I'm loving the progress the team has made, we are far, far better than we were a year ago, and even more going back another year. Brilliant to see.
