There's no need to hope for anything from RM. they're at our mercy if they want Bale. He's not putting up a stink like Modric did. Spurs hold all 52 cards.
Except the Joker?

Not sure if I looked at an article correctly, Liverpool offered a 50% sell on fee if Willian moved on to another club in the future? Levy would not install that incentive at all.
They're just operating the same strategy as Modric last year though, both parties jockeying until the last minute to see who breaks first. They know we will sell, we know they are going to bid. It's like a Western before high noon. Its a fair point. However I can't help but feel if Madrid wanted this done it would be happening by now, or at the very least very soon and the wheels would be well in motion.
I know its a huge amount of money no matter what and when/if the offer comes its bound to test Levy providing it isn't way off - but why havn't they acted yet?
Are they going to get the better of Levy through brinkmanship? Not for me. Do they believe a last minute offer way below what we want is going to tempt us? Again, not for me.
They'll know what we want, nothing is happenin. I'm far from convinced this deal will happen this summer. Perhaps that's Levy's feeling as well at the moment.
Might explain why we are upping our efforts to get Willian now to.
What about if Madrid offer what we're asking on deadline day or close to it? Then the whole strategy is blown apart if we don't have time to get in a replacement. That is my worry.
Does JJ have to keep taking little shots at POTL? Seems arrogant to me. Appreciate the info, but no need for the POTL comment.

That Liverpool incentive, if true, has to be the most hollow and pointless incentive I have ever seen.
He's 25. Presumably you're signing him with the intention of staying a few years. He will have to turn info Messi to ever command a higher transfer fee. Just daft!

We fired him last summerExcept the Joker?
Has JJ mentioned anything on Willian today?
Man this sure is going to be a comedown if Willian goes Liverpool.
Hope our confidence is justified
I think our position was weaker with Modric somewhat.
The only difference is Bale has an extra year on his deal. Once we entered into negotiations we basically admitted there was a deal to be done. We could have got unequivocal like Liverpool with Suarez, but we didn't. That's why I expect it to happen. The only thing that will stop it is if Levy is not satisfied with their financial guarantees IMO.They know we will sell for x amount - big difference.
Modric was different, we had kept him another season after not allowing him to join Chelsea. The sums involved are vastly greater as well, obviously.

We already know the situation with Bale, the question everyone should be asking is, if Bale does stay, will he give it his all for us and get on with it like Modric did in 2011?
