I wonder how far down the line we are with this Willian deal? Reportedly Liverpool have agreed a fee and are pushing ahead on personal terms, so I wonder where we are and what Willian's reaction is. Will he want to get the hell out of Russia ASAP? Or wait until we can sort a deal, so he can have a choice. If he still really wants to live in London and work with AVB, I think I may have to throw a house party.

It does sound like some kind of breakthrough will be made this week but it remains to be seen how compliant Anzhi are in all of this.

Also, what of Lamela now - is he firmly back up for Willian or is this one still burning regardless?

Well Lamela (imo) would be on the right cutting in on his left. Willian would be on the left cutting in on his right, or central depending how we set up. I think Lamela is simply dependent on he who must not be named.

Wpd's info is usually finance-based, isn't it?

Would suggest some wheels are turning.

Wouldn't mind a POTL or a JJ weighing in on this one round about now...

Some Scousers were reporting that he was having his medical today. I sincerely hope not.

I think the fact that Liverpool have gone in strongly for him coupled by his comments regarding Liverpool, I think we'll have to move very quickly. Can't see us haggling over the deal like Soldado when Liverpool's very strong interest would considerably weaken that tactic. We'll have to match what Liverpool are offering IMO. Willian has already indicated he would join them, so I don't see Willian risking a move to the Prem if we were going to be haggling like fuck with a chance the transfer might not go through etc

Is anyone else a little concerened that if Bale leaves then we still don't have many players that will get into double figures goal wise?

If Bobby replaces GB's goals (so many of his came out of nothing where as Soldado will need better service). Then are we that much stronger on the goal front? Paulinho and Chadli should chip in with a few as will Willian if he comes, although he has never been someone who scores many.

This really isn't a criticism I just feel another player who could get us 15 goals a season, be that from out wide or wherever would make a massive difference. Easier said than done I know.

I think we are going to spend big this summer regardless what happens with PG Tips. Currently we have spent around 60 million and re-couped 20, with the players we are possibly OK with moving out (Parker, BAE, Ade/Defoe, Townsend?, Siggy?) we could re-coup another 30 million+. So part of me wonders if both Willian and Lamela could happen, and then we shut up shop for a few windows and let AVB work with what he has (of course Bale will go at some point but I don't think we will spend big again for a couple of years).

Plenty of players have joined them with belief in their own ability and been cast to the side.

It doesn't matter. Every player wants to play at the top level and if he thinks he can compete for trophies at Man City he will go there.

No, that's Wishkah with the financials.

So, another day, another trip on the Bale merry-go-round.
Getting really bored with it now and it's tarnishing what's been a great window so far.
Just want closure!
