Is anyone else a little concerened that if Bale leaves then we still don't have many players that will get into double figures goal wise?

If Bobby replaces GB's goals (so many of his came out of nothing where as Soldado will need better service). Then are we that much stronger on the goal front? Paulinho and Chadli should chip in with a few as will Willian if he comes, although he has never been someone who scores many.

This really isn't a criticism I just feel another player who could get us 15 goals a season, be that from out wide or wherever would make a massive difference. Easier said than done I know.

Paulinho, Chadli, Siggurdson are all capable of scoring into double figures. This has nothing to do with ITK though.

Am I the only one not entirely convinced by Willian & his fee? His goals & assists stats are not great and that's exactly what we need if Bale leaves.

No, that's Wishkah with the financials.

So, another day, another trip on the Bale merry-go-round.
Getting really bored with it now and it's tarnishing what's been a great window so far.
Just want closure!

I remember Wiskah double checking with Wpd on finance ITK - infact he said something like that during Soldado ITK.

With the greatest of respect, if we're being linked to Willian and my concern is that he may not add the goals that we clearly need from out wide or in the hole then it has everything to do with ITK...

No it is not. It is called it's atomic number, which is given by the number of protons contained in the nucleus of the atom (the number of protons is used as this does not change whereas the number of neutrons and electrons does).

Willian is a good player but he has been quite dull at Anzhi, I think the team as a whole has been quite unsettled so that will have gone some way to effecting his performances. Saying that I think 30 mil is a bit to much for him. I personally would much prefer Lamela, especially for that sort of fee, who can also play in the whole behind the striker and create, is 21 and has incredibly high potential.

If Anzi want too much for Willian do you think Levy will ask them to Meet him half way?

Luka Modric's stats were not great. But having a player with ability to receive and give balls in tight spaces will allow other players more time, space and better chances to score. Willian is excellent at this.

I agree. I want to get excited and despite watching more and more vids of him I can't. Not sure he's the level we need and think he may struggle in the Prem. Holds onto the ball too long, gets bullied off the ball and his passing doesn't seem pacy and accurate enough for the speed of the Prem. Not an awful lot different to Lennon which is not bad but not enough to get me dribbling with excitement either. If we get him and Lamela, that would be great but if we only got him... not sure

Sorry to be a party pooper. I would love to have Willian but my head tells me if we were after him, we would have had him already. Now that Liverpool's alleged interest is in advance stages with regards to a transfer, I really doubt it. :(

Lots of players are capable of it, but I doubt Chadli or Siggy will ever be first choice starters when everyone is fit and Paulinho might need a while to get familiar in the PL. I certainly don't think we should be relying on double figures coming from any of those three this season. I think Paulinho could provide a reasonable number of goals, apart from having a decent shot and an ability to make a late run to get in a good scoring position he is also very good aerially, but none the less double figures for a cm in his first PL season is a rather ambitious expectation

How can you said his assists don't excite you yet he got 15 assists last season, 17 the season before and currently has 3 in 4?

His stats for last 3 seasons (gls/assts) were posted here the other day; can't remember the exact figures but he's good for 15 assists a season. That's top class, and EXACTLY what we are missing.

Why? When Anzhi announced their fire-sale we may have just thought we can leave that deal till later in the window to ensure a good price and continued working on other potential signings like Lamela, but Liverpool's interest may have led us to re-evaluate our position and move for him now. I'm not saying we will get him, but to say that we now have no chance doesn't seem right either.

I can't believe the mass hysteria about Willian. He's unbelievably overrated. If he's worth 30 ml, Modric must be 90. I watched closely all Shaktar group games last season and he looked like luxury player, his work rate is very poor. His team mates are very reluctant to pass to him, he was on the periphery of the game most of the time. Physically very weak, can't see him going for 50x50 balls. He's not suited for English game at all. It will be a deadly mistake if we pay 30 ml for him.

We certainly need somebody to provide for Soldado. Was pretty evident yesterday that he can't do it all on his own.

Waaaaaait are you saying... No... surely not that Football is a ... a TEAM game?!!!!!!
You sicken me.

;)
To everyone else: Willian is a really good play and honestly as others have said his assist stat, if you insist on stats, is exceptional. We buy him and we are strengthened without doubt (on and as a bonus... Liverpool aren't)
