I can't go into details. But Townsend and Parker have been pulled up on many occasions during training sessions.

Not saying Townsend is not promising but obviously AVB is not happy with certain things he's doing.

EDIT: During Pre-Season

Which is a fair point, we all see the potential a good attributes he has shown, but i gues where he falls short is not passing when he should, simpler ball / pass is better than just always bomding forward, but i reckon the thing which will be his worst point is tactically. I thin,m this is where someone like BAE struggles and hence AVB is not best impressed as he wants all players to be tactically aware and focussed.

I asked earlier when someone was praising him for beating his man 14 times in one match. What did he do after beating his man ? No good beating an opposition player 14 times and then doing little with the ball afterwards.

This is a problem for all young players though. Final ball and decision making gets better as they get older and play more and gain the experience.

Took the words out of my mouth! (not AVB's) :)

Well, he knows how to say "no, we'll offer this much" - not sure about his abilities in the rest of the process!

Now, not wanting to sound itk in anyway, but in a round about way, I happen to know how highly rated/ admired Levy 's negotiating skills are. The man is an absolute beast apparently ........

Whist his transfer dealings and methods might be somewhat maligned, I don't think there's any scope for dismissing his business acumen outright.

Bit silly if you think Levy isn't aware of such tactics.

I believe he has a price/deal in mind for every player we are interested in and they tries to do the best deal he can with those limitations in mind. He will not pay more than he thinks a player is worth and why should he?

I'm sure he is aware. Doesn't mean his reputation hasn't made deals more difficult for us though does it.

Plenty of itk in the past has indicated that a lot of prem clubs are sick of his brinkmanship. Do you think that helps or hinders us?

To be honest he actually did well at QPR after he beat a man, but QPR has no fit strikers as Bobby was limping during matches

I would say watch the matches since I cant be asked to constantly answer people who never watched QPR, better yet read the laon thread in spur chat, loan watch

Firstly I have watched Carroll a lot live since he signed for Leyton and luckily when he moved to Derby I saw him week in week out. If were judging players on their performances from loans he wouldn't be a starter.

Secondly, Carroll hardly played last season, most of his appearances were 5/10mins, I think he is a great talent but certainly not the best at his current ability, If he goes on loan the chances of it being a championship loan is quiet likely as he isn't certain to get a perm loan and be first choice

Pet hate of mine is when players say lets get rid of so and so and buy so and so despite never seen either play.

Ok where to start?
Firstly he didn't get Player of the season because of one shot, it was because he was constantly winning man of the matches and only missed out on 3 games in the total he played from QPR fans, yet people here wanted Toilet and Remy last season.

Also offers nothing but pace, do yourself a favour and watch the fucking games as he was brilliantly at crossing and decent cutting on his left and right foot

Also this comment of Ryan Nelson is irrelevant as their defence was weak but if you had Anton Ferdinand and Clint Hill you would be asking for Ricardo Rocha

You do know you cant recall premier league or international loans back unless in jan transfer window and only if there is a clause and 2 of the 3 parties agree to it from the owners club, loan club and player

Also I have watched Chadli for belgium since we got linked, firstly that belguim first 11 is strong but isn't the strength depth is nowhere compared to Spain, Germany even England(despite having a shitter first 11 atm).

Also he hasn't played as a winger for the last 18months possibly more as he has been a CM playing the iniesta role in a better way to describe. I think he is a good player but cant compare the two as i haven't seen Chadli play on the wing despite seeing a lot of him since we got linked.

Also Townsend didn't just beat the shit RB's he constantly beat Rafael and Monreal. it was awesome to watch because he looked tired but never stopped causing problems

Is Falque training with the senior squad mate? Haven't seen any pics with him in yet.

My view is that sometimes Levy takes the brinkmanship too far. Not paying more than a player's worth is fine, but there have been snippets of ITK over the last few windows suggesting that Levy views negotiation as a sort of game. It's almost as if he gets a kick out of screwing the other club.

Exactly, nobody wants to deal with a chairmen that messes you about, the key to being a truly great negotiator imo is to have the other side thinking they have got one over you or they are happy to dealt with you.

Whereas we are starting to turn in to a club people don't like to deal with like Porto, Internacional and etc.

Those clubs sell their outcasts by the form of third party registration for a percentage of a player they want and we cant do that here

Um, hands up if anyone is bored rigid with this transfer window?

19th July and we should be basking in a torrent of ITK, and yet it feels more like 19th May.

Or is it just me?

I can live with that. We won't lose our best stars unless we're paid top dollar. The more clubs that know this, the less of our time is wasted and the fewer players have their heads turned.

The Negredo deal is proof that the summer window isn't always cheaper to do business in than January. Sevilla had serious financial issues in the winter window, and Negredo could've potentially been had for a fee much lower than what City just paid. Of course, they sold Navas to help alleviate their stress, and were able to hold out for significantly more this window.

The problem with the Benteke deal is that there are not a lot of alternatives for us if it happens to fall through. The quality strikers who we could potentially afford (Negredo, Gomez, Villa) have already been sold, or will be sold shortly (Higuain, Damiao). The only other option would be Soldado, who is older and who I doubt Levy will want to pay an exhorbitant amount for.

That could leave us with just Adebayor and Defoe heading into the season, which wouldn't be ideal. If the Benteke deal falls through, it'd probably be worth monitoring the situations of Cisse, Ba, and to a lesser extent, Remy (dependent on his criminal case). I know many here would feel let down by them, but they'll be available for cut rate prices, and would certainly be competitive for a starting spot with Defoe and Adebayor.
