I'm basing my opinion of both players purely upon what they've achieved in the game. There is around 18 months difference in their ages, yet one has clearly achieved significantly more than the other. Not only that, as I've already stated (asked), one is being used in various positions in one of the most exciting and gifted young International squads in world football, the other has amassed 17 top flight games in his whole career to date. I'd suggest there's a reason for that? That's all I'm getting at

That makes no sense? Why would they need the money upfront for a replacement, that's implying they are going to fork out around the £20 million mark... Would anyone even go to them who is valued at that sort of money?

It also makes no sense as villa are just as capable of paying in installments as we are.

Has he not done that with Tom Carroll? He made 14 appearances for us last season, I'd suggest that AVB will happily give youngsters a chance, IF they're good enough. As has been mentioned on here a few times now, how many members of this site wanted us to get Sahin, and were then pissed off with AVB because he (Sahin) ended up at Liverpoo? How many of those pissed off members of this site have since come out & said "I'm now happy to go along with AVB's judgement when it comes to a player"? I think pretty much all of those people have happily admitted they were wrong.

So my point is, IF Townsend (or any other youngster) isn't going to be given a chance by AVB, I'd suggest there's a perfectly good reason for it?

Sahin played the DM role in liverpool........ Actually even mourinho didn't rate him at first when Perez bought sahin to madrid.......... He is basically hyped player !! Now gundogan played in his position and sahin became the benchwarmer...

Fair enough, really odd one tho especially after Barca just loaned out Deulofeu, you would think that AVB would at least choose players that are to some degree or other available for purchase. I would love Alexis but so really, really not going to happen.

In all this Tom-foolery...I don't think anybody has considered that JJ might have been referring to LOAN bids for AT. I think he is good enough to challenge to start LW, as I said before we loaned him in Jan, and would more happily see Dempsey and Siggy shipped permanently

Not when I watched him he didn't, maybe there was a language problem as he himself bemaoned that Rodgers played him as an am

Firstly I have watched Carroll a lot live since he signed for Leyton and luckily when he moved to Derby I saw him week in week out. If were judging players on their performances from loans he wouldn't be a starter.

Secondly, Carroll hardly played last season, most of his appearances were 5/10mins, I think he is a great talent but certainly not the best at his current ability, If he goes on loan the chances of it being a championship loan is quiet likely as he isn't certain to get a perm loan and be first choice

Pet hate of mine is when players say lets get rid of so and so and buy so and so despite never seen either play.

I'm not slating him & I'd appreciate it if you didn't question my support. The boy has never shown me anything to make me think he offers anything other than pace. He scores 1 long range shot for QPR and is voted their player of the season, despite playing less than a third of their fixtures. I believe that's nothing to do with how well he did, buy more about how crap the rest of the players played.

Remember, you're talking about a team who's manager said "we badly missed Ryan Nelsen when he left".

I think it's obvious where Townsend features in the mind of AVB, due to the fact that he could have recalled him any time he wanted but preferred to stick Holtby, Sigurdsson, Dempsey & even Dembele out wide. He's clearly not going to get a look-in before any of the 4 players I just mentioned, which is why I believe he may as well be moved on.

Ok where to start?
Firstly he didn't get Player of the season because of one shot, it was because he was constantly winning man of the matches and only missed out on 3 games in the total he played from QPR fans, yet people here wanted Toilet and Remy last season.

Also offers nothing but pace, do yourself a favour and watch the fucking games as he was brilliantly at crossing and decent cutting on his left and right foot

Also this comment of Ryan Nelson is irrelevant as their defence was weak but if you had Anton Ferdinand and Clint Hill you would be asking for Ricardo Rocha

You do know you cant recall premier league or international loans back unless in jan transfer window and only if there is a clause and 2 of the 3 parties agree to it from the owners club, loan club and player

Also I have watched Chadli for belgium since we got linked, firstly that belguim first 11 is strong but isn't the strength depth is nowhere compared to Spain, Germany even England(despite having a shitter first 11 atm).

Also he hasn't played as a winger for the last 18months possibly more as he has been a CM playing the iniesta role in a better way to describe. I think he is a good player but cant compare the two as i haven't seen Chadli play on the wing despite seeing a lot of him since we got linked.

Also Townsend didn't just beat the shit RB's he constantly beat Rafael and Monreal. it was awesome to watch because he looked tired but never stopped causing problems

I'd be annoyed if we sold Townsend. I think he has shown some good potential and I like that he has variety to his game. He can beat a man, go on the outside and get a cross in or cut inside and has a good shot on him (and with both feet). I see him as the ideal understudy for Bale in the Right sided forward role, signing someone to play on the left shouldn't impact on Townsends role in my opinion.

Unfortunately Andros doesn't want to be an understudy he wants a starting place.
