Was trying to remain positive throughout this summers window with all the guff regarding lessons being learnt, which clearly they havent been.
But after all things considered whats happened today has come as no suprise it seems we are destined to always remain a couple of players short every window through obvious reasons.
But to compound things clubs like West ham have found the way to strengthen so have palace and swansea, and all of them have at least a couple of wins already against decent sides showing that these teams are very much in our slip stream, and could well finish above us.
Im starting to wonder if levys days of the skilled operator praying on the lesser clubs by trying to offer derisory offers hoping they buckle may have come to an end, clubs all have money these days and are not scared to spend apart from us.
I hope the signings we have made work out for us plus the gamble of only having one recognised striker doesnt backfire which i think will, Im sure Our business was done last friday this was a token effort for poch.
Now we just have to put Our heads down and get on with it but make no mistake looking at some of the teams it maybe a fight for us to finish top eight.
I wonder how poch must be feeling today after being let down on a couple of signings, lets hope no injuries to kane or dier.
Best of luck spurs.

It's not so much the summer farce with WBA over SB but more the lack of a Plan B to fall back on, it's just complete incompetence.

If nobody identified any viable alternatives then why are we paying them?

I'm not even mad about not signing Berahino, it is simply that we appear to have had no back up options. A team who wants to get top 4 and has this approach to the transfer market is embarrassing. We should be better than this by now.
But people said the same thing when Soldado was rubbish and Ade disruptive. Look what happened!
Pochettino was preferred for his youth management and may have decided what we have in the 'tank' was better than the break the bank alternatives to Berahino (wages wise).

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

DM is the biggest issue for me, we needed one, the club knew that and literally nothing....

Barahino, i think we can live without, not ideal but we should have moved on after the statement last week and looked for alternatives.

No ITK since lunchtime. That's petty unusual as well.

Although Trix did say something about keeping things quiet didn't he?

It's not.

With all due respect to them all we never hear from them for a good while after the window closes

Great window as far as i'm concerned. Son, N'jie, Trippier, Alderweireld in, lots of crap out, and a Berahino shaped bullet dodged.
Will you be saying that in a couple of months time when Kane is burnt out in November or more likely injured? Can you really not see how light our squad is in key areas?

I am gutted for us and struggling to get my head round why we always do this but we can only look to the future people and pray it pays off with njie and son am afraid.

Am also just waiting for tomorrow's thread on @Stoof and his balls he has lost (n)

They went out fighting. Good lads.

I am still chairman of BSoDL and as things stand our membership has not fallen because we were unable to buy a striker for a price we valued him at.

We signed Trippier, Wimmer, Alderwereild, Ali, Njie and Son. We really need a striker to support Kane but WBA stringed us along there, no doubt. We were done but we will have to rely on Lamela, Chadli, Njie and Son to support or replace Kane in certain games. I support the club and just live with some of this shit because the alternative is supporting some other club and that isn't going to happen.
Let's see what Poch can do with this lot.
We're gonna end up ruining Kane at this rate. Or at least make playing for another club far more attractive

The fuck up isn't that we didn't sign Berahino, it's that we didn't move on to a plan b when it became clear they wouldn't sell unless we paid over the odds which we were never going to do.

Going into the season with one striker is clearly a fuck up, no matter which way you spin it. No one wants a panic buy that we're going to have to flog next window that's not what I'm saying but we should be better prepared when things don't go as planned.
