At what point have we said it's our final bid?

You don't let a player talk to a club if you're not going to sell him mate, whatever your agenda.
It's also very interesting that this is the first bid rejection leaked by the media first, and not posted directly on WBA's official site.

90 odd minutes to go. We barely even fucking score a goal in that amount of time let alone thrashing out multi-million pound deals. Hopefully Kane or Eriksen pull something out the bag

He is a striker.

Agree, although I am not sure the club have helped themselves by having the headings "midfielders" and "strikers". If it were midfielders and "forwards" then a lot of the players currently listed as "strikers" would change categories - Eriksen, Pritch, Lamela, Chadli, etc

Do you want to reply
Berahino deal looks dead. 23 million rejected, even if we bid 25 looks like they'll still reject it.

Surely we have a plan B lined up.

If we don't this place is going to combust.
do you want to reply to my earlier comments now Mr Pink.

Well, despite stumbling home at the end of the TW, can't deny that adding Wimmer, Trippier, Alderweireld, Clinton, and Son, plus bringing Alli and Pritchard back from loan, and shifting a lot of deadwood is a good transfer window. It would have been nice to get one more in, but lets not lose sight of the business that we did get done.

We added two players to the starting XI, and quality depth in 5 other spots to help us compete across all competitions this season.

I'm usually a patient understanding person but to think that we can conceivably compete seriously on four fronts with a decent starting 11 but no depth seems mad.

Seriously, risking losing Berahino or pissing them off over £2 million... In our current situation... With one striker.... With 90 minutes left.

Words fail me

Worth noting* that usually Sky and BBC and Twitter are alive with talk of Spurs' potential business, but then nothing materialises. Today there has been a little bit of Berahino chat, as expected, but nothing really new or unexpected as is the norm for us on Deadline Day. Now, this may just be setting myself up for a ton of 'optimistic' ratings, but maybe that's because the sources at the club that the major media outlets usually use are actually tied up helping to finalise some deals.

*'worth noting' might be overstating it slightly...

Nice try but shocking window. If we just bough a striker and DM we would be better

I've been on a course about managing safely .. kinda relevant here, but I'm taking a bit of a punt and seeing as there have been no announcements, but plenty of silly rumours flying around of rejections, that we are well and truely in meltdown at the moment?

Would love to be a fly on the wall with this WBA deal. We've clearly been encouraged to continue bidding behind the scenes etc...

I'm getting as nervous and disappointed as the rest of you but if everything was off and we were getting nobdoy, wouldn't trix or JJ have already told us?

No news is very strange which means something must be going on.

Or maybe they are busy?

I fully expect JJ to pop in here not long after the window shuts and say that he can't go into why it's gone tits up because it's not for public consumption etc. That's not a dig, just how I expect it to go down.

Here comes the apologists...

Let's not dress it up... It'll be a very poor window without a striker and to a degree, a midfielder.

If we don't bring anyone else in, then for the sake of my own sanity, I think I'll give this place a miss tonight

Sorry, but the window is a failure. You cant play a whole season with 1 striker and short at DM. Especially when we have virtually no winners or experienced leadership in the squad that pick us up

I said I wouldn't get sucked into this and believe we were doing things when nothing is happening, but something tells me that the next 90 minutes is when it's all going to happen for us.

There has been absolutely nothing coming out of the club all day.

With the manager publically stating he needs players, I just cannot believe that we've been banking on Berahino and there's nothing beyond that.

Ha! and you feckers can't rate this optimistic!! :p
