I can't believe this Leeds nonsense has come up again.
This 'Leeds nonsense' should come up whenever some joker suggests we should spend spend spend. I'd rather support a team who finish 5th or 6th instead one that becomes a laughing stock for spending beyond their means.

So, just got in and checked the big foxy update!
Lots of interesting stuff, Berahino still a goer, although other options are also being considered.
The germans look unlikely, is this Bender and Kramer or Bender and Bender?
With regards to DM/CM we're looking elsewhere.
Illarramendi could still happen, ...perhaps,...maybe!

Anyone able to shed any light on who these OTHER Striker, DM/CM options could be? (other than Illarramendi).
Surely Hernandez?
How about a cheeky bid Ki Sung Yeung?
IMO Southampton will never sell Wanyama to us :(

Thoughts people!

It's not a matter of two more players. It's a matter of two more quality players. Would you be satisfied with another case of Nelson and Saha?

I've said it before, but I think Saha did a good job for us. He gets scapegoated imo because of what happened at that time of the season.

So if Saha was still playing (and obviously the age he was then), I think he'd be a great backup option to Kane. Or at least a backup option for a backup option. He did far better than a whole host of spurs strikers before him in a short space of time.

As ever, I trust we'll be okay come 2nd September

Because all other players are not at all self centred or greedy or temperamental or egotistical?
Treating contracted players the way you've suggested would be hugely detrimental to signing new ones.
The 'all for one, one for all' everyone's happy even if they're not playing because we are such grounded old chaps squad you crave is the stuff of comics

Of course players want to play, but it is not about that with Adebayor, all he cares about is money, if he truly wanted to play he would have gone to Villa

The latest itk suggests quite rightly that we still have berahino as our Main target but we do have fall back options in case of failing to land him.
Whether the back up options are any Good will have to be judged at a later date if we get any of them but i think we will get berahino.
The midfield position is a slight concern for me as the current options dont fill me with confidence, but again i will save any critisism until after August.
I sincerley hope that lessons from past windows have been learnt because so far in the first two games our problems are very obvious, although it looks again to be late in the window before we get completed which is dissapointing but inevitable with the way we do stuff.

If Levy offered enough money Berahino and one of the Germans would be wrapped up in a heartbeat

We have no choice but to trust Levy till the window shuts but if he fucks up i can't imagine how even the BSODL brigade could defend him

As chairman of BSoDL I have informed my comrades that our leader does not need defending.

I guess I really should've read some of the other posts before posting myself.

TBH I genuinely liked Grey Fox's update, potential for Bera and Illarramendi to come in - what's changed!?
I'm just interested to know who these OTHER options could be, i'm pretty sure we've all but exhausted the list of prospects.

Why is the choice between financial meltdown and harmful penny-pinching with nothing in between? Fallacious argument.

Oh dear oh dear wish I hadn't posted. Apart from getting rid of Adebayor and Lennon becoming more difficult not a lot has changed. Poch and Co have decided who they want and doing their best to get them. Whoever that might be I have been led to believe they will be quality.

I know it's school holidays but it must be time for bed for some of you

DAMN YOU LEVY. PAY OVER THE ODDS. PUT THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB AND THE NEW STADIUM PROJECT AT RISK. IT'S ONLY A FEW MILLION.

Chiefs.
Mate, you've said it a thousand times, I've said it a thousand times and it's been said a thousand times more by others on here.

I admire your perseverance, but it's obvious that whining is far preferable to these people than rational thought.

I've said it before, the site is full of Veruka Salt's.

I never said otherwise, I merely disagreed with your desire to see the club "set traps" so that he is constantly fined as this would make players less likely to want to join.

This Berahino deal is becoming awfully reminiscent of Schneiderlin 2014. Lots of he wants to come, personal terms fine stuff, everything except the fee in fact. Then a lot of "it'll get done"kinda stuff and well, it didn't did it. "They want £25m, we offered £15m" etcetc

Now we're into the "back ups" starting to be mentioned.
Not doom mongering, just the whole process from the vantage point of out here in the cheap seats is starting to look very familiar.

Like you mean giving himself a 30% pay rise (£500k) in the same year he sacked two mangers and spent however much to pay them off. There are plenty of players out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. How much has he wasted in the last three years on mediocre players that can't get into the first 11? That's what he needs to cut down on.
