Let's remember that, when it comes to ITK, the club have very effectively shut down avenues of communication from within the club over the last several years. There's a lot we don't know about what's going on (I'm aware that the ITKs share stuff with the staff that never makes it onto here, but still) and we don't have the full picture. Levy is, it seems, exploring the avenues for best value - as he should. Will he end up having to loan Sissoko to Bournemouth with 90% of his wages taken on by us, or however these things work? It could happen, but we're looking through a keyhole rather than getting the full Imax experience.

We don't need to clear out a huge number of players. We're looking to bring in 3, I think has been said - so Grealish and two more. That means losing probably Alderweireld and 1 or 2 others from the squad so everyone gets registered. I'm sure we'd like to clear out more, but no team in history has ever had a perfect squad.

Even allowing for us turning a substantial profit on Alderweireld (12m when he signed, I think?) we're going to lose money if two of Llorente, Sissoko and Janssen move on. Levy hates losing money, I think that much is clear, but he surely knows as well that the alternative is losing ground. We performed very well in most matches last season, we don't need the kind of investment/number of bodies that Arsenal and West Ham have brought in, but there does need to be a bit of turnover to address the most obvious issues.

There's still time, and things can move very quickly when they need to. We've all seen it happen, and it'll happen again this window. It's far from ideal, but it's what we do, what we've always done, and until the stadium starts bringing in pure profit, it's probably what we have to look forward to for the next few windows as well.

Herc is one of my favourite ITK’s & although it does sound bleak there seems to be a lot of emotion in the last post which may be making it sound worse than it is...trying (and failing) to convince myself of that anyway!

Bit concerned with ITK news at moment, also find it odd how English league voted to closed transfer window when season starts but foreign leagues close afterwards?

Puts us at huge disadvantage as shown in hercs latest ITK.

At least we won’t ‘do a Leeds’, the grass isn’t greener and we’ve been careful what we wish for.

But seriously, I’m still going to wait until the window closes before I start on Levy and the BSoDL. He might still surprise you.
What happened to you? You used to be one of us.

i used to appreciate and support the work done by DL but i think it is unacceptable for DL to exploit poch's trust. DL's reluctance to pay a premium is far from prudence, let alone "sustainability" that he advocated during a forum held by THST.
pushing down is much, much easier than building up. hope DL would understand that sometimes making a loss is not the end of world, but making one of the best manager we ever had is probably catastrophic.

What are you doing here when you should be working Daniel ?

We have made a balls , simple as that, no more excuses, Daniel Levy is not fit to run our club in the modern day transfer window.

Levy understands the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Taking a hit on a few outgoing players or paying the going rate for players Poch wants will be far less costly in the long term than losing Poch (and no doubt a string of top players) will be

How things have changed since Hercs post on June 3rd...Poch loves it here, Levy is backing his man etc!
Levy appears to have fucked his man over!!!

So despite everything that the club (Inc DL) have done in recent years, including consistently giving our best new deals, we're going to start slagging them off just because no one wants to buy the dogshit we're hoping to sell....

In recent years a good window was not losing our best - but now suddenly it's a disaster because we can't convince someone to buy players we don't play anyway?? :bored:

People are looking for some evidence of progression whilst all those around us are strengthening. If we are happy standing still we will end up like arsenal. We have an incredible manager who has publically stated he needs us to back him in the transfer market and clearly we havnt done that yet, so yeh potentially it is a disaster cos if he leaves next summer we are buggered.

So let me get this right...

We've gone from 150m net spend to only Grealish in because of previous poor signings?

Fucking lolz.

Ill wait until the end of the window before I put his head on a sharp spike.

I've seen a few people say this, and it's completely missing the point IMO. Even if we signed Zaha + a CM that Poch wants on deadline day, i'd be left disappointed.

What makes a good window is as much about when you sign players than who you actually bring in. Poch himself said that it takes months for players to settle in and so we need to get them in as early as possible. We always sign players late, never have enough time to bed them in, and drop silly points at the beginning of the season which comes back to bite us toward the season's end. We've shown no sign of learning from our mistakes so far, and time is running out to change that.

How to view my posts

I give it as it comes. I share it as I hear it. Sometimes with visual evidence of player/s in our vicinities. If the sun is out I tell you. If it rains I tell you. I call it the way I see it.

And I stand by my initial optimistic posts pre-window. Circumstances dictated couple signings never happened, with one (JG) good as very almost done-Praying hands.

DL is no idiot, and I am sure he will have to bite the bullet. But when people start saying we have to sell first, what do you expect me to say? Certain things I don’t share, and I believe certain information put out can seem contradictory, that one would ask WTF!? Hence, I have to bring semblance, on things I hate doing.

I am told that regardless, we will complete 3 signings in the key areas earmarked from the onset. We will reluctantly concedywith at least 2 transfers into Europe after our window closes, and before 31st August.
