That's not really what he's saying. There are a whole range of issues that affect our financial situation. I think we generally trust Levy to run the club on a secure financial footing so why obsess over the details? Comments along the lines of 'I'd take £35 million for Modric or 15 million for Huudlestone don't make any sense to me.

Well considering, Chelsea paid 50m for Torres and Liverpool paid 18m for Henderson, of course it won't make sense.

So with O'Hara gone for 5m, JJ possibly going to fenerbache for 5m and Palacios going for 12m to Napoli will give Levy a big wedge to buy a world class striker

I really need to go on holiday for 3 months and hope by the time I come back a striker is signed so I don't have to go through this thread every minute of the day.

:hump:
It's times like this I wished I lived in a hut in the Alaskan winderness, with a pet grizzly bear, and made my money trapping and eating mouting oxen-goat-thangs (whatever they have in Alaska, basically) and selling their furs (can also do some logging on the side).

Tommy has played a huge part under Redknapp, I know we've seen the emergence of Sandro, but it looks like Palacios will be leaving and possibily Jenas too so I'd be very very surprised to see The Hudd go.

What we don't need to start doing is making whole sale changes, we literally need a handful of players and trim down the deadwood.

If we start selling Huddlestone, Jenas, Palacios and O'Hara, you're looking at needing two replacements, which is unneccessary.

I'm one of Huddlestone's biggest fans so I really hope the ITK is nonsense.

If all that comes to pass it will be 3 cm's off our books, would make me certain we were bringing in Parker or someone of similar ilk

Couldn't agree more. This is increasingly looking like a precarious transfer window for us. It seems like an incredibly difficult balancing act...trying to create space for new players by selling...but having no guarantee of bringing in better replacements. Even more worrying is the faint possibility that we'll sell players like Huddlestone, Palacios and Jenas...only to lose Modric or Bale later in the window as well.

I really don't envy Levy and everyone involved in the transfers. They will know how important this window is, and must feel like they are walking a tight-rope...with an improved team capable of challenging for the title waiting at the end, whereas a disheartened, broken up and downgraded team potentially waiting underneath. Let's hope they don't fall.

Wow... Slow day thus far

This is how it should be after all there has been NO ITK today so in theroy there shouldn't be, give it a few hours and I'm sure there will be formations and comments about players we haven't even been linked to being the answer to our needs and probably something even more obscure

There is no way on this earth that we are selling Palacios, Jenas and Huddlestone. One yes, two possibly, three no way.

Huddlestone wont be sold. Palacios will because we can get decent value on him and if a decent enough offer comes in for Jenas I think we'll jump at it.

If Palacios and Jenas are sold I wouldn't be surprised to see Diarra coming in, and if not certainly Parker.

Sandro, Modric, Hudd and one of Diarra/Parker. Thats very good midfield options for next season and ultimatley we've strengthened that area of the squad.

The last time I saw you my eyes were red from constant crying
Blue moon was at my door
The leaping of my ransomed heart
Said trees can weep and stone can bleed
We knew but we were unsure

dunno if its true and dunno what it means and sorry for creating a big whohah from posting it :(
