Although Parker's wages will be more than O'Hara and Jenas combined, his value to the club as an asset will be far less, and his rate of depreciation much greater.

Who cares, we wouldn't be signing him for a sell on value. We always hear people moaning that a player would have no sell on value, then the same people moaning that we shouldn't sell a player to a so called bigger club. If we are signing a player I hope that they'll stay and help us win football matches not that we'll be able to sell them for a profit.

Not in a million years.

This sounds more like it

never in a million years will we sign Parker, Cole, Upson and Neville

People just like to push this perception of Harry only wanting to buy such players because he has shown interest in or spoke highly of one or two such types from time to time.

No way is he looking to sign several players like this, he wanted one of Neville or Parker because he felt we lacked a leader, in similar fashion to the Gallas signing last year.

People like Dan Ashcroft who has a clear anti Harry agenda just like to focus on that and ignore any other player Harry talks about or the club targets and write off any signing that doesn't fit this mould as "Levi signings" which is stupid beyond belief but it fits in perfect with their little anti Harry campaign.

Right, so we gonna get Rossi, Adebayor, Cahill, Leandro and maybe Parker?

Hands up who thinks that will happen.

If we sign all of those this summer and remove the deadwood it will be more than my hand that is up

I don't really understand why people on this site get so fascinated by the money.

"I'd sell Hudd for 15m, but not 12m" - Why? It's not like you're going to see any of the money is it?

"I'm glad we didn't pay x for x, it's not worth it" - Why? You're not having to re-jig your own personal budgets are you?

I'm sure Levy is qualified enough to not 'do a Leeds', so don't worry about it.

Yes not all signings are made for their value in economic terms, we are after all a FOOTBALL CLUB as well as a business.

If Parker can come in and his experience and commitment leads by example, lifting the squad by 10% over the course of the year and we end up regaining our CL status thanks in part to Parker no one will care that he has no sell on value or costs more in wages than Jenas and O'Hara who at this time are surplus and play little to no role in our success or failure as a club anymore (O'Hara being gone already)

Any club needs a mix of young exciting talent and a few experienced old heads to lead the younger guys (chiefs and indians)

Exactly, i hate the attitude of 'oh i dont want to spend x on certain player'

who cares, get them in, let Levy worry about it. like he did wih Bent & Bentley.

I really need to go on holiday for 3 months and hope by the time I come back a striker is signed so I don't have to go through this thread every minute of the day.

I understand.

If we are doing poorly financially it dircetly effects my ability to attend and support my club. Who do you think actually pays for poor management? its the fans.

So the fact that SPURS season tickets are nearly the most expensive in the PL -acording to your comment means that DL is a poor manager?? ?

That's not really what he's saying. There are a whole range of issues that affect our financial situation. I think we generally trust Levy to run the club on a secure financial footing so why obsess over the details? Comments along the lines of 'I'd take £35 million for Modric or 15 million for Huddlestone don't make any sense to me.
