Damiao would be the most underwhelming signing of our summer, don't want him anywhere near the club. Nobody in Europe going near him now.

Question is why did Chelsea suddenly decide to spend £30m on Willian when they could have done it a week earlier when Anzhi first made the announcement. The stuff about ITK’s leaking medicals is nonsense, as if connected people have to go onto SC website to find out what’s happening. Lazy journos might do that, but not movers and shakers.

The fact is that either Mourinho suddenly decided he needed a sixth very similar type player or Chelsea had another thought.

It’s entirely possible that Willian not joining Spurs will result in Bale not joining Madrid. It’s pure Mourinho for that to be part of his plan (he’s more worried about RM in CL, than Spurs in PL, I’m afraid). This little powerplay potentially screws everybody up; RM won’t sell players to Man U / Arse if they can’t buy Bale. Spurs won’t have the Bale money to strengthen further. As a player Willian’s a big risk at £30m. But as a political manoeuvre it’s, well, quite cute.

I would die if Madrid are all set to announce Bale and have every media and fan at the Bernabeu. Then we announce a Bale contract extension and Perez throws a shit fit while being booed out of a job.

I could dream, right?

We do seem like mugs in my eyes. Especially from what Mourinho said. It was like he was giving us a lesson in how to sign a player, almost seemed bemused Chelski were able to do the deal so late on. The transfer should have been subject to medical. I think Mourinho said something along the lines of 'the player is usually signed on completion of the medical'. He passed the medical, this should've been wrapped up immediately. I realise we don't know all the ins and outs though, and I'm not saying this is gospel. Will be interested to hear from some of our ITKs when the dust settles a bit. Hope it wasn't Levy style penny pinching that slowed it down, post-medical. I was scared ARSEnal were going to move for him (offering CL football and higher wages), I really didn't see Chelski coming out of the blue (excuse the non-deliberate pun).

We really don't seem like mugs at all, you're buying into exactly want Mourinho wants you to!

This will come down to nothing more than the Chavs will have offered the player higher wages, which is actually pretty impressive when they have to advertise home matches on the radio.

I reckon Levy should get on the blower to Mata's agent now and offer him and his client a slice of the 'ol Bale money. As laughable as it sounds it may unsettle him, and if there's one thing we know about footballers it's that they love da moneys.

Maybe he's made up his mind and wants to goto Chelsea, but legally he is a Spurs player as the paperwork has gone through, hence the 'He's still making up his mind' stance being thrown out?
