Oh woe is us, their chairman is playing games! So sick of the ITK making excuses again, preparing us for the failure. If you really want a player, you get it done, no matter what. Not whining about the other side playing games...

This is panic thinking.

It would weaken Liverpool's bargaining position re: Suarez and since Arsenal have come in £15m under what they want, is something they are unlikely to do until they have a specific deal lined up for Suarez similiar to the Carroll/Torres scenario. This is way off, and we're at the table today negotiating. Liverpool are nowhere.

Valencia see this as black and white. This negotiating word only applies to Levy.
Inthe same way that when I go to Tesco and try to negotiate the price for my milk. They just turn around and say. It's 45p, pay it or go somewhere else.

I think half the problem is that they suspect we are about to sell Bale for mega bucks and they want a piece of that action.

No matter what?

Really?

Even if that "what" is, say, an extra £10 million tax payment?

Yeah but your local Tesco ain't in debt to the tune of millions and millions.

His agent would have told us the ball park figure for getting him when sounding them out about the move. If the price was more than we were wlkbg to pay why continuously dick around?

Yup. That's the clincher in this discussion.

The good, ole, trusty pint of milk / £26 million footballer analogy.

I don't yet see the signs of panic, for me we have been after Soldado for a long time so i think he wants to join us as said he would in the past, Liverpool despite there history haven't finished anywhere in the league in years and dont even have europe to offer him and i would imagine one of the first questions would be is Suarez staying, same as im sure it was with paulinho about bale, am sure he is after more than just a good wage.

Surely a more apt analogy would work with something slightly more expensive in the context of your personal wealth? (I don't know, say like a house - would both parties not expect negotiations regarding the asking price?)

Also there's a plethora of shops that sell milk at a competitive price, the same can't be said for football clubs and top class strikers.

Do you know for a fact that we are dicking around?

Seems to me that Valencia's public stance is just part of the negotiating process.

That makes no difference. Being in debt will more than likely to harden their resolve and result in them holding out for their asking prices.

Us going over there saying, well you are in debt, here's £22m, you should be happy with that is going to receive short measure.

If you want to buy something when the price is fixed you can't negotiate.
Just as Levy would do with his valuation of Bale.

Not if they've got milk that's going out of date, sometimes they reduce the price of said milk in order to shift it... I know what you're saying though, I guess it depends on if there's genuine interest from other teams willing to pay what they want and Soldado being prepared to join these other teams.

But Valencia aren't prepared to negotiate. They have clearly stated a take it or leave it price.

Except that they are effectively owned by Bankia who want their money and could just asset strip the club if they wanted.

Somewhere, deep down, I still feel that Tottenham Hotspur FC and Leandro Damiao are bound together by fate. (n)
