This friendship argument is largely exagerated. Luka will have plenty of friends at the club and probably across Europe too. He doesn't need his fellow countrymen to hold his hands. I doubt if those 2 leave it would change things with Luka. If hew wants to leave it will be for football or money reasons.

I think that's probably the case now but when Modric first joined he said something about how he'd always wanted to play for a big team alongside Corluka. I don't think either of them were particularly close to Kranjcar though, though I'm sure that's no longer the case.

If Modric leaves it will be for a number of reasons, but ultimately I can't begrudge him wanting to have a varied career by experiencing different teams and different leagues. It's not as if he'd be jumping ship after a year. Anyway enough off topicness from me...

I can't believe how early the ITK is flying this year. There's still 3 months and a week to go until the end of the window!

I think over three months of undiluted ITK could be too much for any man to take...particularly when our club has such a fondness for last minute deals.

It's going to be a long long summer.

Gomes is injured atm so if we do extend his contract we wont be able to get rid till january at the earlyiest!
I was told gomes should be off this summer as he wants to play but cudicini might go.
We have 4 Gk's we have been lookin at all year 3 young and upcoming and 1 exstablished prem keeper. Button is rated very highly by tony parks so might be in the squad next year.
King will sign a new deal.
Nelson is 50/50 to have his deal extended depends on gallas. And the rest are on the list to be moved on if we can get them clubs.
Was told this all last week.
Gd news i was told last nite is levy's meeting with ajax went well and has nearly agreed the deal for vertonghen just sortin out how long the payments will be payed over and other little things. I wasnt told when it will be sorted thou.
And also i was told remy's agent wants to wait till after the euros to agree any deal.
My m8 was told levy was also talking to a brazilian players agent in holland the same day.

Sorry forgot to add saha will stay if we cant get in 2 new strikers adebayor being one of the two.
And also an update on scott parker. He still is struggleing with his ankle but hodgson wants him to go so does parker but HR and our medical staff are worried if he does go he will come back alot worse and will miss first month of the season. So he will have tests today to see if it has healed enough to be ok.

I'd love the signing. But, even discounting Gallas, Nelsen and Ledley, we'd have 5 CBs if we signed Vertonghen and Douglas.

Indeedy. Say the Vertonghen deal did fall through though. One hell of a backup option. Different kind of CB but it would do me.

Right. Shame for Super Scotty though. He's not going to have many more chances of going to a championship tourney with Ingerlund. Besides, give Sandro a month in the CM and he'll finally establish himself in H's eyes, imo.

Do they need to be? If a big money deal is being discussed for one of his players I could certainly see him travelling across Europe to discuss a possible deal.

I'd be sad to see them go. Both are decent players.

Corluka is less of an issue due to the progress of Walker, Smith and Naughton.

Krancjar however is the only cover we have for Rafa (albeit Redknapp never actually uses him). IMO Krancjar will need to be replaced, and we have enough work to do buying forwards and replacing Modric before we need to worry about that.

I understand what you're saying... BUT IMO Kranjcar has NO LEGS!!!! Not mobile enough for this current Tottenham team and style of play. Obviously he looks good when playing Cup matches against lower ranking teams as he has more time on and off the ball, but he's simply not sharp enough to even deserve a place on the bench for Prem matches.

HR biggest mistake this season was playing Kranjcar against Arsenal... The poor bloke looked like he had sandbags attached to his legs. Also why do we insist on playing him on the wings!? He's not a winger!!!! The only position suited to him is the VDV role!

As for Corluka... I've been saying for 2-3 years he's not good enough and also to slow to support in attack etc etc... I argued with people on this site who kept telling me he's international blah blah blah.... But now the same people have changed their tune and realised Charlie is not up to scratch! Walker is our RB and now Naughton has some experience he should back him up.

I think the signs are there to suggest we will be looking to do most of our business early this year (ins and outs). I think it will be quiet come August for once, maybe only a few departures etc.

I dont really share this sentiment. I want him fit to play properly for us, after all we pay his wages.Sure it would be nice for him to go but under different circumstances.

Dont forget we are meant to be his team he supports, yet he turned us down twice for Chelsea and Newcastle.

Yer i agree. I think he will end up going tbh. If king could make the WC with his knees parker will lol! If parker and hodgson wants to go i think harry will understand. He thinks the world of scotty. The only thing that will stop him will be our medical staff or englands as they dont think he will last the tournement!
