It's easy saying that but it's not that simple. It's not a case of both sides swallowing pride. Fans need to understand the players are employee's and under contract to act a certain way. If Poch just lets it go it sets an appalling example and is then a precedent when other players agent have an issue with the boss. Has to be all Toby IMO or it just won't happen.
Fair enough Trix. I just hope Toby does as him leaving would be such a shame.

If Toby really has behaved a shame bad as it sounds, which I think can only be one of mouthing off to Poch in front of everyone at a training session, refusing to train, or bad mouthing someone like Davinson for being ahead of him in the pecking order then he probably doesn't have the ethos Poch values so dearly to heart and is a little bit too much out for himself.

Such a shame but whatever Pochettino decides to follow through with, I'll trust his judgement when it comes to things behind the scenes regarding Toby

It's a difficult situation for us though. He's a top class centre back and unless we can get another one in the next couple of weeks we're weakening at the back. I appreciate no player is bigger than the club and he has to fall back in line and work hard to get back in the team. From a pure football perspective we don't want to lose him and certainly shouldn't send him to a rival.

The more I hear of Toby’s situation, the more intrigued I am to find out more. He must have behaved really appallingly, as every ITK seems to respond similarly scathingly when we speak about wanting him to be reintegrated into the team.
Poch went to bat for him with Levy and got Daniel to agree to Toby’s demands on a new contract. Then Toby said no and wanted more. Made Poch look like a fool in front of his boss. Been said on SC multiple times.

It’s also been said there’s far more to it than that - multiple times.

Based on what Trix has said, I think the Martial situation will end up being an eye blinking competition between Manure and Spurs. The player will probably contribute if the press reports on his frustrations are true. I think the most likely scenario is Mourinho bringing in another forward making Martial dispensable. This is all probably going down to the wire. I don't think Toby will feature.

What we need is another club to start making noise about wanting Toby and then watch them cave!

Problem is I don't think anyone else is going to go for him.

We need to ask a favour from someone like PSG then!

Doesn't seem that big of a problem. All that's needed is for Toby to make a heartfelt apology to Poch in front of the whole squad before cutting off the end of his pinkie finger Yakuza style, and signing a new contract with the bloody stump. Lesson learned; everyone lives happily ever after (y).

Toby’s contract offer is still the same one, with absolutely no changes. He either signs-what he gave his word to, and becomes water under the bridge. Or! He won’t be in manager’s plans, and hard to get game time, which he knows. Yanited are not willing to pay even 50m for him. His value on the market is circa 30-35m from outside. I know he is worth more than that.

Out of the horses mouth; Josh is not for sale.

Really happy about Josh. Toby...couldn't pronounce his last name anyway.

as others have said the stakes are high and I'd never back Levy against their might- we've already seen how that ends. Mourinho could be using the Martial thing to get himself yet another toy, but unless he does that early enough Levy will run out of time to acquire the pacey wide forward Poch evidently really wants. Palace won't deal for Zaha at the last minute. Poch and the fans paying the highest prices in the land end up with nothing more than a consolation prize. And a grumpy Belgian training with the kids till January. Glad I'm away for the next two weeks!

Toby's a fool if he doesn't sign the pre-agreed contract. It's like he went into this window with a fair bit of hubris, thinking (or believing what he was told by his shitty representation) that there would be offers from all over for him.

And yay re: Josh.

Interesting Toby’s deal is still on the table - I thought it wasn’t even on offer at some point - so the disrespecting he has done doesn’t seem as terminal as other ITK have suggested

Maybe Levy could throw in some sort of two for one unlimited hair product supply for him with Grealish (maybe?!) coming on board too just to smooth things over

Great on Onomah - if only to prevent a mass outpouring of grief on here

So he signs and plays, or stays and is quality backup until we can shift him abroad in August or agree a sale in January to a preferred destination. I'll take that.

Makes sense especially with Pavard off to Bayern and De Ligt likely to stay at Ajax for the time being.

Hope it gets resolved soon, then that's one less key area to worry about.

We could do with PSG, Bayern Munich or Juventus doing us a bit of a solid on this one then. I can't believe with there being such a small pool of top class defensive talent available this summer that Toby won't at least attract a bid from one of those clubs, even if it's to test the water with his £25m release clause

Thanks Herc. Delighted to hear that about Josh, I think he is potentially a great player!
