We could do with PSG, Bayern Munich or Juventus doing us a bit of a solid on this one then. I can't believe with there being such a small pool of top class defensive talent available this summer that Toby won't at least attract a bid from one of those clubs, even if it's to test the water with his £25m release clause

I think he's too old for Bayern. Juve won't have much cash left to chuck around post-Ronaldo. PSG maybe but they have to be wary of FFP and have the two Brazilians and the youngster Kimbepe.

Genuinely think his best option is to sign the deal with us like Herc mentioned, especially if Utd aren't getting anywhere near our valuation. Or even stay and be a bit part player until January and see if the options improve.

He’ll also be worried though that if he doesn’t sign and waits for January and hasn’t got any games, he’ll be quite a risk for any prospective buyer. A lot pressure on him so based on what Herc says, my guess is that he’ll sign and we’ll be planning to focus our efforts away from Martial.

It's easy saying that but it's not that simple. It's not a case of both sides swallowing pride. Fans need to understand the players are employee's and under contract to act a certain way. If Poch just lets it go it sets an appalling example and is then a precedent when other players agent have an issue with the boss. Has to be all Toby IMO or it just won't happen.

You mean much like when Rose apologised to the whole squad after his ill fated interview? I wonder if Toby would be up for that, an apology to Poch in front of the whole squad?

Toby’s contract offer is still the same one, with absolutely no changes. He either signs-what he gave his word to, and becomes water under the bridge. Or! He won’t be in manager’s plans, and hard to get game time, which he knows. Yanited are not willing to pay even 50m for him. His value on the market is circa 30-35m from outside. I know he is worth more than that.

Out of the horses mouth; Josh is not for sale.
I had assumed the contract offer had been rescinded due to his behaviour. Interesting to hear it's still/back on the table. Pretty simple then, eat humble pie and sign or welcome to the reserves.

Pochettino quotes today out on Onomah who is injured and therefore not travelled but is in his plans for next season (Herc's ITK)

The problem is the early closure of the UK transfer window, european clubs will be waiting for late deals which,if we sold Toby then, will be too late for us to get a replacement. Although you could argue we already have his replacement.

Cheers Hercules.

This and Martial will probably go to deadline day then, unless Mourinho's bosses get their way and sign Maguire beforehand (as per Trix's info earlier today). If its not settled by then, both Alderweireld and Martial will be going abroad before the end of August. Probably not ideal for both clubs as they'll get less money selling outside the PL.

Based on what Trix has said, I think the Martial situation will end up being an eye blinking competition between Manure and Spurs. The player will probably contribute if the press reports on his frustrations are true. I think the most likely scenario is Mourinho bringing in another forward making Martial dispensable. This is all probably going down to the wire. I don't think Toby will feature.

They do realise that levy doesn't have eyelids? He couldn't blink if he wanted to.

Where ya off to Al - The 1980's ?

We have even got intranet here in Ireland already, a few hours away from SCITK might be a blessing.

Hercules -Thanks for good news re Josh.

Hope the injury doesn't get in the way and prevent him from having opportunity to prove himself like others in past- Pritchard being a case in point.

Is it a stretch to relate rebrab's info to what we are hearing about Onomah? Perhaps Poch see's him as a Dembele replacement.

Either way it's very pleasing to hear he is going to be given a chance. The lad deserves it.

I doubt it unless Rebrab knew Alistair Gold was going to be asking Poch about Onomah during his press conference today. I think it probably had to do with something transfer related

He'll deserve it when he's earned it so it's a shame he's currently injured. I'd also assume that not for sale doesn't mean not available for loan.

Is there anywhere you can watch the full Poch press conferences? Seems weird that we rely on short quotes in this day and age

Well, we have a player they want, they have a player we want. It's obviously going to be less complicated to go and buy someone else with straight up cash.[/QU

In theory more complicated = One arrogant club who think they are more important than football itself trying to force the other club to part with one their players by any means, fair or foul with the aid of biased bandwagon jumping media types stirring it up, without accepting that they should part with one of their players to the club it's trying to get that player from.

If they got off that hypocritical high horse of theirs then there is no reason at all why things shouldn't move on to being a little less complicated.........

I really want Toby to man up, apologise to Poch, make amends by jerking Mouninho around on Levy's command, taking it to the wire and having Levy sign Martial letting them believe they'll get Toby, and then signing a new deal with us at 9pm August 9th ?
