It sounds like we have to play the Zaha situation very carefully. I'd imagine if him and his team got wind of our interest in another player when he is a possibility, it may be enough to sway him in Chelsea's favour.

Of course we're going to have intrest in other alternative players, just as he'll have interest in alternative clubs. That won't matter - whoever pulls their finger out and agrees a deal with Palace will get Zaha. Think he'd be equally happy to go to us or Chelsea.

I think Levy has been wonderful for the club, but I will be so disappointed if Zaha is our big signing this summer. I refuse to believe we can't get better for the same price abroad.

I'd rather have a top quality CM than yet another forward.

Transfer windows are always a rollercoaster for us, but I can't remember a wider gap between the optimism when it opened, and the pessimism 2 weeks before it shuts.

He's homegrown.. it's been said repeatedly in here lately that's attractive to us right now.

Cheers @Hercules lots of info splurged there. Main thing I care about is that you’re confident we’ll have 3 in. I imagine we will only bring in someone if Pochettino sees a genuine value in them so the fact that three are likely is good news. I imagine from the player we’re linked to it’ll be a WF, a CM and then I’m not sure.

Probably Grealish on top of those 2

If being home grown is one of the main drivers behind our major summer signing then that’s very odd. We’re competing at the top of the league, we need the best regardless of where they started their career. I doubt that is the case though.

If that's the case let's hope Wilf and his cronies don't spend their down time on SC then

Yes, I fully understand that. So are many players. I'm sure we aren't just signing HG players this window.

If we get grealish, zaha and a cm of quality that will be a great window for us and turnover some of the unwanted players so we are not in similar situation next summer of having to sell a shed load before we buy

One would assume Grealish is the third so an AMC. What I wonder is how does this three get effected by any potential sales. Most notably Dembele or Toby. One would assume they would need replacing resulting in a pretty hectic two weeks.

Well yeah of course, but I mostly said that due to the history. We had previous ITK that we offered a ridiculously low salary, so it sounds like we need to keep Zaha keen and not frustrate him.

I agree - IF we end the window with that, especially a central midfielder of quality, it would have been a successful window.

No. We obviously aren't just signing players because they're home grown.

We are, apparently, looking for a wide forward that can also play up front. Check

He is, apparently, well regarded by Poch and has been after him for some time.

So it's clearly a combination and he ticks many boxes.

Hercules thanks for the info as always...

While expecting 3 signings is great I think we all worry about the quality of those 3 going from martial to zaha to ending up with another dud.

We all know we need quality to add to this already impressive squad, to challenge for honours it’s not about squad depth anymore it’s quality.

Really is crunch time and either levy needs to swallow his pride and get the business done before the ship sales and we end up with another gap filler.

No matter what happens I believe levy will deliver come deadline day and we will be happy people!

Itks thanks for all your info this window so far, has been a rollercoaster of a ride so far with ups and downs but you’ve always kept up in the loop as much as possible without damaging the club or your sources.

Zaha would scare the shit of other teams. He'd bring a lot of space to our other attacking players because of this. I'm all for signing him at around £55m if it means it gives Poch serious competition across the park in AM Andy another forward option to trim down on the need to have Janssen, Nkoudou, Edwards & Llorente in our ranks

Zaha is a game changer for us imo
Just the type of quality we need.
We have many good/ great players what we lack is unpredictability pace power and skill that Zaha has

I want to post a gif of when Peter Griffin chooses the mystery box instead of the boat, but I know it’s not allowed.

Anyway, everyone is intrigued by a mystery box but ffs let’s just sign Zaha. We’ve been here a million times before!
