TBH if we could get Josh King for anything round £15-25 million and sell on Janssen for around the same amount I wouldn't complain.

I think Josh King has potential, and he's only 25; He's still got time to improve. He'd be a very solid player to be back up to Kane.
That would be completely stupid imo. Vinny is 23 and has a lot more potential than josh king who should be in his best playing years. Plus vinny starts for an international team. If it was a choice between those two I'd be sticking with janssen, especially since he's been here for a year already and knows the system.

5. Told RS, we were encouraged y the club to bid, but we verbally did, but not formal. It is my impression he only signed to make sure his club was very well compensated. He only (at this moment) wants to come to us. Waiting 12 months things can change with him.

That kid is a class act

Hercules, our most positive Itk imo is struggling to lift the pessimists today. Can't help the feeling we're gonna be pissed of big time on the 1st September & have to listen to those defend our Dear Leader once more. Brace yourselves for more spin than DJ Hype in the mix.

My guess is we'll end up with lots of players with potential, but very little to improve the squad currently.

Also, Aurier's signing will only be to restore a certain parity after we weakened the squad in the first place by selling Walker.

Sanchez and Barkley will give us extra depth. A pacy wing forward would be nice though.

Maybe wait and see what actually happens first?

I would have catogorized Balde as more a wing forward and King as a forward. I think we are more in in need of the former then the latter. King would just be a bench replacement for Janssen and I would rather give Vincent more time after we spent a year bedding him in.

We were never realistically going to sign Martial imo - was never on the table. Thanks so far to all the ITK'ers though - nothing makes my willy tingle more than getting up in the morning and seeing new ITK on here! It's better than sex (although if you saw my Mrs naked, pretty much anything, up to and including death, would be better than sex, so that is not saying much).

Aurier is an upgrade on Walker, if not immediately, certainly once Poch has got his hands on him

Potentially yes I agree, but he still has to settle and there's always the risk he won't.

Plus we have to actually sign him first!

Oh and he's currently a fugitive :D.

This all feels very familiar. I have to say that whatever happens now I am somewhat disappointed with our approach, We let Walker go without securing a replacement and failed to get any key targets ahead of the season beginning. We've seen this movie multiple times and the most realistic outcome is the majority or indeed all of the slated business does not come off and we are left scrambling for alternatives with five minutes of the window left.

I know it's difficult and that we don't possess the financial clout of some of our competitors, but it is nonetheless a disappointing state of affairs.

Trying to find out updates against today's negatives. Feed back;

1. PSG to THFC RB still positive. As correctly reported paperwork legal s a bit fuzzy, but he has. Even cleared by the courts. Visa/permits etc, but more complicated than first imagined. If negative we will not be loaning out KWP, which would worry worry for me as I believe Poch may go with Tripps. Not sure if there is a back up.
2. Foyth we all know about,
3. RB we are very confident, and everything absolutely agreed. Chavs have had verbals to top our price by a little distance. But RB has ZERO interest in even reading what have to offer, much less anything else. He is already chatting to some of our players, and can't wait. Everton do not have much scope for us to increase bid. It is believed will go to DLD.
4. JS: I am gutted (if true) as those very, very close expected announcement today. As reports are suggesting, his heart is set on coming here. Asked if filth have rocked the.boat, and reply was 'no way, don't think so'. Whatever it is is between the clubs, and nobody is saying anything yet? So we have to wait.
5. Told RS, we were encouraged y the club to bid, but we verbally did, but not formal. It is my impression he only signed to make sure his club was very well compensated. He only (at this moment) wants to come to us. Waiting 12 months things can change with him.
6. Striker we spent s lot of time on is being a dick-head (Balde), and we moved on. Bournemouth have dropped their asking price for Josh King. We have a choice out of four (including him).
7. There is an outside chance on a player out of Italy I believe. Would possibly be loan with option to buy next season at a price of 40-50m Euros. We have irons in the fire in France and Spain for potential wing forwards that would put us back about 10m at a guess. If the latter happens VJ going nowhere.
The Italian player I reckon is Kean, interesting as his name was thrown around when we were playing guessing games at the start of the window.

I think Dembele at Celtic is one of those attackers on our list of 4. We were interested last year and his stock has only risen.

Suso may be the player in Italy we could loan.
