So weve gone from Ade, Diarra, Kaka, Ribery....to Joe Cole, Parker and Bellamy

...heavy sigh..

I suppose realism had to set in eventually
The realism is that we've only signed Adebayor so lets not get our knickers in a twist shall we?

We get linked with so many players every window from world class to the most underwhelming of players. Lets see who we actually sign out of those. Our last 2 proper signings were VDV and Adebayor. In Levy we trust.

we getting Craig "tiger woods" Bellamy, i'd take him no probs pace to burn and knows were the net is, plus i think hes not half as bad as the press make him out, i heard he wanted to stay at city for the remainder of his contract to send the money he would make to some poor africa country

Agreed. The guy set up a charity in Sierra Leone and is in the process of setting up another in Ghana. He gives a lot of money and time to helping the under-privileged in Africa. He is also suprisingly well-read. Sorry if I'm pissing over the stereotypical view of him.

Yet again, a player is slated again before he's kicked a ball, more assists and goals last year than yellow cards from a committed, experienced, versatile, fast, hungry footballer prejudged because he can be a bit of a horrible bastard. Well we need more horrible bastards, we're too nice.

Bellamy is the type of guy to fight for his place and has a point to prove, that kind of competiton can only be good...on a free too? Easy decision.

People write off players Harry wants involved before they kick a ball and try and use them to fuel agendas and cast doubts on HR. Let's sign who he wants, if he and they fail, then you can all quite rightfully rip into them.

Boo-hoo experienced players on free transfers.

Fucking wise up.

Are you mistaking us for a club who needs to get experienced players in in order to avoid relegation?

While Mr Bellamy may have proved himself handy with a golf club I think comparing him to Tiger Woods is a bit far fetched!!!

If he scored even half as much as Tiger does I'd say snap him up!

I have to say I'm not totally against the idea of signing Craig Bellamy as more than anything else now we need work rate from the forward line and Bellamy, despite his faults, really does defend from the front.

Would he score more goals than either Pav or Defoe, debateable, plus the obvious question of where exactly we would play him either as a wide forward or a straight up partner for Adebayor.

Bellamy and Parker, whilst not the glamour signings people clamour for, can certainly add something to or side and without a shadow of a doubt, if we added them then we would concede a lot less goals.

Folk prefer stereotypical views - they are easier to believe

Maybe that's how they get to be stereotypical :hump:

If he's cheap im gonna go on record as saying he'd be a shit signing and not what we need!

yeah, lets stick with the lazy good for nothing defoe who shouts off to the media when he does not get games and when he does his work rate and energy and been a team player is nothing short of diabolical.
plus he does not even score.

or Pav who is not much better.

im sure u know what we need though.

I agree with your first point- people will take the piss out of us for sure but I think they can definitely do a job.

But wait? How does buying a winger/striker and a Center Midfielder help our defense? I could see how Parker could, but Bellamy?

of course but apart from maybe leandro i cant see it. my point been that a 31 yr bellamy wud put both pav and defoe in their place ten times out of ten. when u look at perforamnce tonight of suarez who had no break at all over summer it really puts to shame the effort our strikers put in.

all i ask for a fan is 100% effort , busting ur balls like a kuyt or suarez or a tevez do every game. if thats not good enough then ill accept it all day long . at least we tried.

should be mad few days and this notion of us breaking our transfer record?? hhhmmm i have no idea on who it is and if its going to happen then someone must get a serious well done for keeping it so so quiet

I like Bellamy but he's 32 now, just too late in the day for me...maybe one more season out of him but if we could get somebody better and younger it would certainly be my prefence.

I would take Bellamy over Cole though - oddly enough.

It's more the fact that off the ball, we tend to lose our shape completely and particularly through the middle. I just think with that extra work rate that both Parker and Bellamy would bring it would make it that bit harder to get at our defence.

Someone like Bellamy who is tenacious in the tackle and doesn't let the oppositions full backs have time on the ball ala Suarez will undoubtedly help us. It's not necessarily Bellamy i like per se, it's more what I feel that type of player could do for us as a team and complement the more creative elements such as VdV and Modric.

I cant believe how our transfer targets have changed. In one day we have almost signed a player who plays in the Champsionship and are interested in one who played on loan in the champsionship last season and one who played about five games all season last year for Liverpool.
Please can we go back a day to Cahill, Diarra, etc???

It's short termist undoubtedly but our primary goal is getting back in the Champions League so the idea does have merits.
