I know it's been rubbished by the more respected ITk, but I've been told that Forlan was definitely there last week.

Although not signed, because we are waiting on another option (which I am not giving details on!!!).

Can you tell us if it's a big one??

I think it's a big one, but others wouldn't (personally can't see it happening myself).

Certainly a bit 'left field' I guess.

To be fair the only member posting "itk" I have seen getting what could be considered abuse is Adiepf, this is largely because not only was all his info ultimately fruitless he also expressed himself in a way that suggested he knew 100% rather than was just passing on things he had been told.

I don't know if he was a WUM, was being wound up by a WuM or just got a bit over excited at what he was told and frustration at being questioned lead him to exaggerate the quality of his info (i.e. to suggest it was more first hand or deals were actually done etc..)

But to be fair he also received a lot of positive attention at the time so people take the rough with the smooth (and without wanting to bash, he kind of brought some of the abuse upon himself with his reaction to people questioning him)

I think Shanks, as a respected member of the site would be able to post anything he has heard without such abuse (beyond people perhaps doubting what he was told will happen etc) and so long as you don't react to any such questioning of your ITK in a fashion Adi did you would have no reason not to post your ITK here (unless your reasons were to protect a source or the deal itself)

That being said, I can understand if you think its more hasstle than its worth in which case feed the goat (although I guess now having announced you have something to tell the goat everyone would know the goats info comes from you anyway so you might as well just post it here now )

Isnt that because they have demosntrated ambition and the fact that they clearly have funds available (so dont need to sell)?

The quality of their signings and value for money are open to debate but the fact remains that since their spot of good fortune in getting a ludicrous amount of money for Torres, they have reinvested it (and more in Carroll, Suarez, Henderson) and are currently attempting to sign Downing.

Maybe it's just easier for them to demonstrate ambition as their squad was quite a bit poorer than ours, and therefore upgrades are easier to find:shrug:

hmm... Rossi would make sense. As that is one which has been touted but not propper. But if you said Eto'o you might well recieve abuse from some posters :think:

I think most people on this site do not doubt that you where told what you are passing on but just is the info that was passed to you accurate? You yourself have alluded to this before

And they had £50m burning a hole in their pocket and an instant need to replace (plus the reckless mind set to actually spend £35m of that on A Carroll)

You are of course right, they were in a position that required a lot more investment than we did or do and as such its far easier to splash cash on squad filler signings were as we are in a position where we need only a few additions and they need to be the RIGHT player, we are no longer in the blanket bombing hope for the best stage of our transfer strategy.

Not as big a name as some we have been linked to, not an established world star as of yet but certainly a player with class and potential to become a big name.

actually not at all a bad idea, most people giving shanks abuse where posters on other sites, which didn't understand the context of the ITK, they just read the readme and think Shanks might be some WUM or something, if it comes from the goat, on other sites he might be absolved from the conection of the ITK. What would be better is if the goat releases both Shanks's info with another persons info so know one knows who said what.......then again it does sound like uneeded effort.
