I think most people on this site do not doubt that you where told what you are passing on but just is the info that was passed to you accurate? You yourself have alluded to this before

The only thing I alluded to was that this information was from a player, so whether it was 'office gossip' or not, is hard to figure out and understand.

Thats all really, what goes on behind the scenes and what actually comes out are two different things, which I think the majority understand.

I never said anyone was signing, just that apparently forlan was booked for a medical and/or at the lodge.

I mentioned about Keane, Jenas, Bentley, Wilson & Crouch going.

I mentioned about the Joe Cole personal terms agreed, but we wouldn't guarentee first team football, and a rumour about Adel coming back :-D

i agree with you mate 100%. they love striiring the shit and i do believe their is something in fact they dont like spurs for some reason.

The reason is that a disproportionately large number of tabloid hacks are West Ham supporters. Essex boys made good, and all that. And just as your average spammer fan hates Spurs with a vengeance, so do the hacks in question.

It voids any abuse an ITK poster could get, (although in turn they would lose the credit)

doubt it since he said he thought it would be a big signing whilst others wouldn't (Drogba has been the best striker in the PL for the last 5+ years) and out of left field would suggest it is someone we have not previously been linked to (where as Drogba has been linked to us even in the national press)

I don't know Shanks from Adam, what with being a fairly new poster to the site, but I can't think someone who has been posting for as long as he has would just all of a sudden start WUMming on here.

If people don't like what he has posted then that is fair enough, but I think most of us are quite happy to hear any ITK. Yes we might not like every piece of it that we hear, but it's all part of the silly season that is the transfer window.

We all can't wait for it when the season is on and then can't wait for it to finish when it is actually here!

I say post any ITK you may have, Shanks, we know that you have been told this stuff so unless you are being WUMmed by your source then there is a good chance of what you are saying being true.

That's not to say that any of the deals you mention will happen as things can change in football all of the time and we could be looking at 10-20 different players, but it still makes good reading, and most of us appreciate it.

serious lack of strikers out there, well not many anyway so im sure it can be narrowed down. either way it will very slow process.. i dont see a striker signing till the last day and i mean last day

If its out of left field it won't be Eto'o, Drogba, Adebayor, Benzema, Vucinic or anyone else we have been linked too. It will probably be someone like Kevin Davies, Kevin Doyle, Carlton Cole or Bendner at Arsenal *Shudders*.

The press vendeta thing is bollox. It only ever surfaces as a point of discussion when journos write stuff that we dont like to hear, whereas we tend to lap up any positivity (and before you all cry "there ain't any" - there is, and was, especially during the CL campaign).

I wish the Adebayor talk would fuck right off. The mere fact that Redknapp want's him pisses me right off in particular about the type of player he wants at spurs (and before you all start banging the "anti- redknapp" drum against me, it is nothing of the sort). Redknapp wants premiership players and it seems regardless of age, ability, experience or character. This is how it appears to me and i disapprove.

I also wish that the club would issue another statement saying that they have had talks with all their top players (Modric in particular) and that they will not be going anywhere (yes i know that the last statement kind of said that, but it would be good to know that discussions have been had with players to stop all this nonsense about "showdown" talks). Modric should also make a statement saying he is happy at spurs.

Finally, sign a bloody player or two to show the club's intent and pour water over the rumour flames. Silence only tends to fuel people's imaginations.
