I came back after a couple of hours and thought I was on the Samaritans' web-site.

I must admit it does look a bit ominous with regards to signing a new striker. I for one do think we need something different up top, but if we dont this January then isnt too bad. We have played all of the, so called, big boys & have this record to show for it:

Home to Man City 14/08 - Draw 0-0 - Absoluetly battered them.
Away to Man Utd 30/10 - Lost 2-0 - Cheating Nani.
Away to Arsenal 20/11 - Win 2-3 - Showed great fight & determination.
Home to Liverpool 28/11 - Win 2-1 - Didnt play that well yet still won.
Home to Chelsea 12/12 - Draw 1-1 - We were the better side.
Home to Man Utd 16/01 - Draw 0-0 - By far the better team.

With that record against the big teams it shows that we have just got to be a bit more consistent agains the lower in the table sides. We are playing a new formation this year, Bale has carried an injury for the last couple of weeks, Dawson was out for a long time, and Huddlestone is still out who is a major factor in the way we play.

All im saying is that we are a good team & have brought in Pienaar & lost Bentley, upgrade in my opinion. With Huddlestone coming back & now looks like we are keeping Kranjcar then I still think we have a possibility of getting into the top 4. Failing that I have no doubt whatsoever that we will finish in the top 5.

We need an up and coming striker, we've never been able to compete at the deep end of the transfer market for the top players and probably never will. It seems to me that our scouting system needs a huge overhaul because this current approach is not working.

Struggling to see us signing anyone else tbh.

Probably because we have been in this situation a lot of times over the last few years.

Although my only Jan prediction was that we would be linked to Beckham (which we always are!!).

I've tried tapping up my 'contacts', but they ain't saying a word to me. Not that I'd post that info here anyway, but it doesn't matter either way.
