Does anyone out there actually rate our strikers who (whisper it quietly) got us into the Champions League last year?

Now i'm not saying we should rest on our laurels and not sign a striker, but realistically is there a striker out there who's AVAILABLE and AFFORDABLE who would improve dramatically on what we have got already. Baring in mind that if this elusive striker does indeed exist then you have to expect the selling to club to have to line up a replacement so it justs jams up the transfer conveyor belt even more so.

January is notorious for hard bargaining and over-pricing so i'm not surprised that our business is going into the last few days considering the calibre of player we are supposedly looking at.

IMHO the success of VdV is causing us problems - the whole system has changed since last year when a proper 442 seemed to work well for the forwards - now we have one up with VdV somewhere around - the problems is not finding a quality striker but more finding one that fits in with VdV

We got 4th INSPITE of our forwards, not because of them.

Defoe was terrible all winter and spring, Keane was in Scotland, Crouch was Crouch (though got the goal at City admitedly) and Pav was the best of a bad bunch.

Our defence is top 5.
Our midfield is top 1.
Our strikeforce would possibly scrape midtable.

Players have too much power these days, I miss the days where players were simply told "your going, now fuck off" but now a player can ruin a clubs entire transfer business, POTL definitely hinted that either Pav or Keane had fucked things up

I don't see how, unless they were makeweights.

Did Pav refuse to go to Madrid because his pasty skin can't take the sun?

We won't get top 4 unless we have a centre forward who is effective in the current formation.

Chelsea managed 1 win in 10, and we are still behind them. Now they have their three Talismen back.

This will be a second season running where we score 20-40 goals less than the top teams. Half to 1 goal a game is a massive gulf.

They may have gone on a bad run but they started the season on fire and at one point looked well on their way to retaining the title. We wouldn't have thought we'd be so close to them by this stage of the season. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City are all bloody good. We've got a real battle on our hands but we're well in the chase for 4th.

What the hell happened on COYS in the Stevie P thread, Someone say something bad about POTL because loads of posts had to be taken down, No idea what it was about, Scutch :shrug:

some newbie had a right go at him and he said hes off. A tiny bit of an over reaction maybe but no one should get moaned at for just passing on information that they dont really have to and may even be putting their job in jeopardy by doing so.

Hopefully he'll be back to give us some info before the end of the window.

COYS must be so l33t, I think I got to page 2 of the application process and they wanted a detailed history of my time as a Spurs fan corroborating evidence, references and samples of piss and blood.

Is there a medical or anything? Seemed a lot of hassle for a fan site.

I agree to some extent, he has just replaced the effectiveness we had with two up front last year. Its the same problem (not enough goals) but with a new twist. He is great, but we looked more potent this season playing 2 up front.

On this site we are against all member abuse, this doesn't just mean no ITK bashing, but also no abusing any member. For too many people are being out of line over the last two days because they are getting carried away in this thread. This includes people attacking info and ITKs, people defending ITKs and ITKs themselves. Also, regardless of what your feelings might be of other Spurs Forums, we try to maintain good relationships with all of them, so no bashing in that direction either.

Enough thanks. We're all Spurs. Let's be a little bit more respectful of everybody.

Fabiano is quickly becoming our only option I would say. Forlan out, Suarez: increasingly unlikely, Benzema: we've enquired thats it. Hulk? would struggle for a WP. That leaves only Fabiano.

Monday is going to be a nightmare, possibly the busiest ever (for domestically and abroad).
