Anyone got to the bottom of "to Teach the language ......."????

I thought that was meant to be Rossi. Apparently someone was sayin both his parents are language teachers.

This was last night though, so i might have missed something in the mean time.

Apparently no one guessed it, so its not Rossi.... Its got me, I can not work it out.

I wonder if that was just in reference to COYs though? I'm sure it was someone on here that cracked it. And it was late when they solved it so might not have been spotted.

Other clubs are no doubt doing to us, what we are doing to the clubs that have our targets. Playing a delicate waiting game in order to get a better deal. Stoke may want Crouch, but feel our price is too high. They can afford to wait, and tempt us with a lower offer closer to Sept 1st, or if we sign another striker.

We are perhaps waiting for deals to unfold before we commit. If ITK is to be believed then Rossi is our number 1, but imagine if we sign Vucinic (my pref) only to see Rossi available - could cause more tension - assuming there is tension already.

It's a fine balancing act that is yet to unfold. McLeish is bluffing because he wants to scare Levy into a deal, Vucinic is probably on the brink but we are waiting to fully commit, and Diarra is probably in the pipeline, but no point in buying if we still have Palacios.

I would prefer us to move early and risk being left with an inflated squad, leaving us in a position to do loan deals in the remaing days before the window shuts. Get the wages off the bill is the end game for me, not the transfer fee.

Maybe it wasn't good news so Yidio is avoiding these boards

Or he's still drinking with his contact

The news was SO good that he had to be killed/sworn to secrecy as no-one was meant to know yet.

I love how palacios loses form for a minute and suddenly becomes "deadwood". When he was signed he was hailed as 'just what our club has been missing' etc.

I think he has a future at spurs, especially as PSG just signed Sissoko from Juve.

A minute? lol someone hasnt watched spurs for over a year.

lets just go all out for llorente

Can we give up on the Llorente talk already, there has been no ITK linking us with a serious bid for him and quite frankly there is almost no chance that Bilbao will sell a striker of his quality who has Navarrese roots, he's going to be impossible to replace. They might take a silly offer of £30m+ (that Levy would never sanction for him) but anything less than that just isn't worth it for them.

I tend to agree, it sounds like we know where we want to shop but it's uphill going.

I'm less confident that we can really do what it takes to pull off a signing though, we (and by we i mean Levy) just seem really reluctant to do a deal unless we stretch every last penny from it and frankly with some of the free flowing money in the game at the moment we're going to be up against it with this approach.

In fact i would say the only teams that we'll be able to successfully deal with this window are ones that need to sell the player we're after (either for the income or to balance their squad) or clubs where the player we're after has said he wants to move specifically to Spurs, at which point we again have the upper hand.

All other deals where we are trying to negotiate for something we need and with a club who don't need to sell leaves us in a weak negotiating point, yet we seemingly continue to negotiate with them as if we hold all the cards.
