With the reports coming out claiming that us and WBA are quite far apart on valuation is hardly a suprise.
But every club has an opening gambit and Im sure if we want him enough and he wants us then this transfer will happen, i actually think he will be good for us.

Also the press can be a fair bit behind , so I'm hoping we're now closer than the reports suggest.

The press have been saying "48 hours until...." about Berahino so often that Hollywood has been in touch to film a remake. Berahino has been cast as Eddie Murphy and Baldini as Nick Nolte.

Hold on to your horses mate, wasn't long ago alderweireld was poo-pooed
The big difference is JJ said Alderweireld was a target but wasn't attainable due to non commercial reasons but that situation changed. He has said with Bolasie that we just aren't interested.

I think that people take ITK far too seriously.
It is what it is.
They hear or are told things that maybe true at that time and, generously, put it on here.
I, for one, thank them all for it..
Some people seem to forget about the pinch of salt!!!

If I met Levy as a one off, I personally would have been a bit underwhelmed with only being able to share that he has an American related nickname for an American player, and that he evidently likes to fetch cash for players he sells.

My word for the day is 'currently'.

If Yedlin goes to Lyon then I'll believe the rest maybe.

It makes no sense to loan him to France.

He seems to be struggling with the pace of the game here, so why send him to a slow-paced league? Surely he'd be much better going to League 1 or maybe the Championship to learn to cope with intensity.

Not RO worthy but interesting

Jasper on SO on transfers and Mason

This season is a big and developing one for Mason. I see him as a valuable squad player, and sincerely hope he can actually up his levels and shock some people, that is why it is a big season for him.

Not that I agree, but Poch believes he can get extreme levels out of the youngsters due to his methods, philosophy and game plan. I had this discussion with someone in the club and very close to the coaching staff, very close without divulging too much. It took me by pleasant surprise when he said they truly believe many will be surprised with who may play first few games as new players coming in will need a while to adapt and are very comfortable with the situation. The players due in are now no major surprise but you cannot force the selling clubs to release even if price agreed at our command. The difference with the big four they pay almost double if not 50% more to get them in early, and we just cannot do that as not only would we have to pay more, but the wages would reflect that which then has a knock on effect with present playing staff as you would have to meet contract conditions and then up their wages as well. This as as good as you will get coming from very close as you can get information.

The only reason I am sharing this piece of information, though reluctant is to enlighten genuine people who love our great club on this forum.

I wish people would listen to the part about getting in players early and how the big teams do it.

Interesting news re: the yoofs. Would be very interesting to see someone like Onomah step up in the first few games.

As for Mason, I simply don't think he's cut out to play in a midfield 2 so I'm not sure where that leaves him.

This 110%. It's frankly embarrassing when listening to Spurs fan's whine and moan about 'getting players in' 'sign them early' 'just pay them what they want' when they can't grasp the fundamentals. Do people honestly think that given the choice between getting players into the squad early or leaving it till last minute is a concious decision to save 'a few quid'. It's not just the initial outlay it's 101 other knock on factors to consider.

In our eyes we are a big club, in reality we are a big club. Just not as big as others.

I too do not think he has a strong enough skill set for him to be starting in the first 11, as one of two CMs. However he would be my first choice to bring on should we have to close a game out or need to up the energy levels. His energy is infectious and would be a more than able squad player for us.

I won't delete it but quite why its even getting airtime beats me. I'm not sure its even genuine but assuming it is, there's absolutely nothing new in there.

Nothing.

Yedlin on loan……Selling Fazio……..NFL more games…….and we need a striker. All these things we've heard before and all have been discussed before so its not really worth much although (if genuine) from an unveriified 'one-off' source its nice for the person doing the earwigging.

Meanwhile in the world of 'proper' ITK, yesterday's thread threw up a couple of bits that for some reason never made the Read Only……….

JJ on Bolasie - "Not for us"

Trix on Lamela - "Not for sale"

So that puts to bed two of yesterdays shithouse rumours :D

I didn't know Poch called him Yank, a curious treasure of a tidbit.

Really excited about Jasper's recent post - would love to see one or two of the younger players given a chance.
