If Levy is saving money for a new manager then why hasn't he sacked Redknapp? Our season could be wrecked because of Levy's lack of investment.

Maybe he would like to and if so I could not blame him in view of HR's performance, both with the team and the media this year. However an expensive contract termination and any bad feeling from HR fans would be avoided if HMRC did the job for him by sending HR off to spend some time in the big house. It may well be the case that we will see mostly loans and little in the way of big spending after all this window as DL may take the view that there is no point in forking out for a stellar signing when a new manager may be arriving in the not too distant future. A further consideration is that fees and wages may be a lot less next year because of the new rulings and better deals may be available at that time. Accordingly perhaps he may have decided that this year is one in which caution should rule even if it is at the expense of a possible CL place. Obviously this would not be popular with the fans but it may have commercial merit in the longer term. Equally, since this is just a thought, it could be a complete load of bollocks.

I still dont know why we have not wrapped marin yet...he will cost more than 10mil euros and he will have the same impact as mata/saurez.

Agree. I know he said he didn't want to come earlier but he also said if Bremen get the right money that changes everything. I don't think he'd have the same impact as Suarez in the sense that Suarez scores more goals but he could easily set the PL alight yes.

More a comment on the club selling him than the player (although how much is an injury-prone 30-year-old worth?). Almost broke, desperate for cash and to get him off their books, and have been throwing shit at us in the media for a year. Give them as little as possible and watch them squirm.

£7.5m, if we're using Woody as a yardstick.

If we don't get him, look forward to a tissue-paper central midfield until Sandro gets back.

Roger Morgan on SO re. Bits

For me:

Good next 47 hours = Diarra, Cahill + Leandro confirmed for Jan

Bad next 47 hours = any deadwood of the near-future (Parker, Bellamy, Cole or Hargreaves)

Ok it seems Cahill Parker Hargreaves and Bellamy will be the 4 players I expect us to get as they seem to be targets and realistic given the timeframe

Anyway night all. See you in 7 hours

You know that to sign 4 players, we'll need to sell 7. 11 transfers in 47 hours!

Mix a little bit of those two scenarios together and you'll probably have your answer.

TBH after hearing jj yesterday i don't want to get my hopes up, but anything plus cahill and parker is a plus imo

If I was levy I would do a deal like liverpool, where they said carroll price plus £15 million, I would say gotze price plus drogba

Sorry for the negativity, but if the drip, drip, drip of ITK on the Levy/Redknapp axis, the prices we are demanding for our deadwood are to be believed, and the ongoing Modric debacle all points to one thing to me.

And that is that this club is eating itself from within, and i hate to say it, but i feel that if will be reflected in our results in the coming season.

Its smelling a lot like a 'Ramos-esque' situation all over again*

*except instead of spending willy-nilly, we're not spending full stop. But we're still the same rudderless ship now as we were then, IMO.

I honestly would accept the bad 47 hours over us waiting to sell and not getting anyone

Read a quote from his chairman a few months back, said they were building the team around him after his injury. not happening. he is class tho. would cost 20m+. levy wont pay that.

Yeah...but we said that about the unmentionable one - where did that get us

I want the good 47 hours and so does all at the club especially Harry!

Trouble is that its 50 mill versus 5 mill so which one do you think will happen....

I think Beats1 is on the money and also lets hope Daniel has another one of his VDV surprises up his sleeve!

2 huge days coming up!

Christ, Levy must be a nightmare to deal with, no wonder all other clubs piss us about with having to deal with him.

either buying or selling.

Blah blah we are so well run blah blah its all redknapps fault blah blah.

I'd like (be happy with) Cahill, Parker, Cole, Diarra, Bellamy & Hargreaves (any of those!) pref not all 4 midfielder's lol

Man, you are easy to please. You would be happy with Cole, Bellamy and Hargreaves for our summer transfers??!!? Cahill, Parker and Diarra are the kind of realistic decent purchases we should be looking at, the other 3 would be overpaid, injury prone journeymen. No thanks. Unless you were being sarcastic?

Appreciate you Mr. Pink. Your sensible approach to these forums makes me a fan. As for ITK Parker and Cahill would be welcomed. Would it be Dawson and Cahill or Kaboul and Cahill?

Part of me thinks Cahill and Dawson are too similar.

But the more high-wage journeymen millstones we collect, the more windows we'll go into needing to get rid of them before we can invest in genuine quality. It's a vicous cycle.

Would definitely rather keep Palacios and Crouch than Parker/Hargreaves/Cole and Bellamy.

I get your attitude over the other 3, but surely you can see the positives of getting Parker.
