I'd be upset to see Wilson go because I still see him as the player who turned us around after Ramos sent us into decline. I genuinely believe that if we hadn't signed him we'd have stayed in the relegation fight that season.

That said, 14m would be impossible to turn down and with Sandro and probably Parker we have that area of midfield covered. If he does go I'm glad it's abroad. Really wouldn't want to have to face up against him if he moved within the Premiership.

£14 million is a decent return on Palacios but I still would have rathered other players sold before him and in an ideal world for Palacios to play a crucial squad role for us next term.

That being said, money is king and as I said, the fee is probably too good to turn down but should anything happen to Sandro long term next season then we are completely powder puff in midfield.

I still think others should have gone before him, but if people dont come in for them and have for wilson and for a price that is around us breaking even on someone who saved the club but is now second fiddle to Sandro (no one can complain to that) then its good buisness, as you said when we have enough cover anyway.

I'd put the whole amount to be funded for strikers.

Parker is not the priority.

If we lose Palacios then another tough tackling midfield is definitely one of our priorities. Sandro can't play that role in every game next season and we simply can't rely on Huddlestone and Modric playing together on too many occasions.

Yes we need to sort out the strikers but not at the expense of letting the rest of the squad go into decline.

There lots of midfielders of the same quality as Parker available in the current market.

Not many good strikers that will improve us are, so we have to act fast.

So that should be the priority.

We have Sandro/Jenas/Hudd/Modric/Pienaar who can all play there if need be.

Even still we'd most likely be looking to sell one of those before we bring in Parker.

Sad to see Wilson go, but we have a better player in Sandro. I cant see where parker is going to fit in with Huddlestone, Modric & Sandro in the middle, he isn’t going to get enough game time, unless one gets injured. Parker would be ok for £6m. Hopefully now if we get rid of a couple more we can see a few coming in.

Where would Modric go? and if its 3 in the middle, where does VDV go? if you say wing where does Lennon go?

I think we need to ship Wilson out but not so desprate for a replacement, we have Modric, Sandro, Hudd, Pianaar and then the links to parker. Also players who may be leaving - JJ and Niko can play CM if they are not sold

He's much better than Parker (all signs point to him signing) and can play three positions. Risky having only one ball winning midfielder to choose from.

I'm fairly certain we can concentrate on more than one transfer at a time.

Also I don't think that any of the players you've listed adequately cover Sandro so yes we do need someone in that position.

We seam to score more goals with the huddlestone modric combo...

1. Do we actually? If so I bet it's not a big margin.
2. Even if we do I'm willing to bet it comes with an equal if not greater impact on goals conceded.

Every top team needs a midfielder who does the defensive side of things well.

United - Carrick/Fletcher
Barca - Busquets/Mascherano
Real - Khedira/Alonso etc

Even Arsenal have players like Song and Diaby who do that defensive side for them.

Neither Modric or Huddlestone do that defensive side effectively enough to rely on regularly. Pienaar rarely plays central midfield and Jenas...well we all know about his inconsistency.

One of the main reasons we got into the hole we did under Ramos was a complete lack of steel in midfield and Palacios helped us deal with that. If we sell Palacios and Sandro was unavailable for any reason we'd be right back in that position in my opinion.

I honestly think that Arry will play Parker as 1st choice DM if he comes in. I think that Arry believes Sandro still has a bit to learn about the prem as his actions after Sandro scored against Chelsea illustrated.

Wilson: Great price and as i'm sure Parker is on the way in for £6m(?) it looks ot be a good bit of business. He hasn't been good for a long time and Sandro, Hudd, Luka and Parker would offer a better mix in my opinion.

Ivory Coast striker: IF Sherwood is watching him he is probably also watching every other U17 at the competition. I'd have thought he'd be over there, possibly with spurs scouts, trying to find a couple of youths to take a punt on. The fact that this kid has scored 8 times in 3 means that the press will assume everyone there is looking at him. I'd like to hope we'll try and pick up a few of the star performers there and see if we can turn them into real players.

What actions? He just tried to calm him down so he didn't get booked. There was nothing more to it than that. The kid scored against one of the top teams in world football so he was a bit too excited and Harry was just bringing him back down to earth.

£14mil for Wilson is great, didn't we only pay £13mil to start with? that plus the £5mil from O'Hara and hopefully a few other sales will give us a nice little amount.

I much rather replace Palacios with Diarra than Parker...Although £14 mil is great business, we need to get rid of our actual deadwood i.e. Keane, Jenas, Hutton, Bentley.

Difficult position to fill, need a player who won't stifle Sandro's development and is also aware he may spend some time on the bench, doesn't sound like parker to me. Kaboul can play there as well, have we any youngsters who may fit the bill?
