He could have been the missing piece for England. Exactly the sort of deep lying midfield general that they're massively lacking in right now. Certainly so far as players under 30 go anyway.

Would never have got in ahead of Steeeevie and the Liverpool crew sadly.

Even though I agree he would have been perfect (was really hoping he'd play for England personally).

Was thinking the other day if he played for the Argies they probably would have won the World Cup (they seriously lacked a partner with good distribution for Mascherano).

Could realistically be our "John Stones" signing. In a year (maybe sooner if all goes great) or so it could look like a real steal.

Was thinking this earlier when I was seeing the mixed reviews. Pretty sure similar things came out when Moyes signed him originally. Be great if Dier progresses as well or better than Stones

He stated that "for once the papers have got our targets right!", and many people thought ihe was referring to the express, who said we were after Dier and Musacchio.

Could be that, or could just be anything re MS/JR/Dier

For the poster, who asked;

The guy in the middle of the photo is Bayram Tutumlu.

He is a football agent/intermediary. One of the players he is connected to is Hector Moreno.

I am 100 % sure that Moreno would have been a Spurs player by now had he not suffered that injury at the WC.

I'd agree that due to hierarchy the invincible captain cosmic that is Stevie G would have always started ahead of him (though I think Schneiderlin could well have got in alongside him in place of Henderson) but I wasn't even thinking of the past so much as the future.

I think we're looking at quite a promising generation of English players coming through right now but what I see no signs of are any top young English dm's/all rounders. There looks very good (or at least much better than in recent years) potential going forward in the striker, winger, creative midfielder and full back departments. Less so at cb maybe but it's starting to look like a couple of them might emerge (Stones, Dier, Lascelles). Absolutely nothing though so far as linchpins who can hold everything together in the middle of the park.

You're allowed pictures in the other threads, but not in the ITK thread - because some people have peasant's bandwidth and the pictures eat into it and slow down the load times.
