Until it's poo pooed I'm going to believe it's Bale.

It'll be like pretending to be on crack...

Never gonna happen

Too be honest I'm definitely not ITK, it was something passed on to me by a fellow yid I work with, his old man, who works somewhere where he would definitley know, tipped him the wink. Having said that, take with the usual pinch of salt. (y)

Can only hope but did he even get a clue if it was either a big signing or just a little one. Probably not I guess. :(

I am not sure if this is the best place to post this, but the more I have thought about it, one name has emerged as a dream out of the blue signing to me. We had itk a while back about juve, and said poster (I forget who sorry) saying they would be very surprised if we could convince the player. Then JJ's Italy itk started rolling in, and everything seems extra sensitive/hush hush.

The player that keeps popping into my mind is mandzukic. I've convinced myself this would be perfect for us. Realistically he might see himself on the outside of juve's first XI given the attacking signings they have made. He does not fit our traditional youth profile, but he would bring a winning mentality and experience to our squad and immediately contribute to our first XI. He wouldn't block any youngsters eventual path into the squad. Most importantly, the guys a bit of a bastard...in the best way possible. His attitude, work rate, and desire to out dirty the opponent fits right into poch's ethos.

....just some thoughts I've decided to finally share. Then again, in a few days time I will probably be proven VERY off the mark and idiotic...

If this 3rd choice goalie really is our first signing we're just going to be laughed at.
Surely the club wouldn't do that to us would they?o_O

I reckon that's tough on Nelson, he was a pro for us and always tried to put in a decent shift.
He wasn't someone the fans wanted but he did what he could (not his fault we bought him)
The times have changed and the future is much brighter than at any other time since I have followed Spurs

I do totally agree, he was a complete professional. It was the initial signing him after Redknapp said we were close to getting a deal done for a world class centre half that was underwhelming. I think we all expected something a bit more exciting

He'd be very underwhelming. Wouldn't be bad but underwhelming.

I think it's most likely a highly rated young player that we don't want Chelsea gazumping us on in order to send him out on loan for 5 years and then sell to Watford.

Fine and dandy about leaks at our place being shut, but these things tend do seep out from either the selling club or from sources close to the player. Will be a weekend of F5ing, this.

On the other hand, the Onomah deal was confirmed just hours after rumours started coming out in the media.

From Darren Lewis who I've always been sceptical of, but got onomah and gazzinga right (although the latter yet to sign). Maybe someone is blabbing to him.

Bazzinga represent a real coup for us.

Imagine the Third round of the FA cup against Fulham or if we get knocked out of the CL and find ourself away to Dinamo Zagreb in the top 32 of the EL and we decide to give Lloris a rest. Suddenly Vorm get injured and it looks dark, but despair not, we have Bazzinga ready to come in and save the day.

Doesn't get much better really when you think about it like that (y)

Apologies in advance to A&C but I'm going to speculate a bit too, hopefully it'll connect to enough ITK to be acceptable. It's just a hunch but the Juventus link makes me wonder whether the mystery player is Schick.

Juve had a fee agreed in the region of €25m for him but didn't go through with it, supposedly due to issues that came up on his medical. If we were interested it stands to reason that we would have touched base with their medical staff to sound out what the nature of the problem was.

He's a top talent (one that most would be happy with I think) who has only just had his breakout season (so Rob may have needed to look him up on YouTube). Sampdoria is in Genoa, in Northern Italy.

It's also conceivable that, if we decided that his medical problem was not serious enough to scupper the deal, we might want to keep it hush hush so that other clubs don't get wind of the fact that he's actually healthy enough for a transfer after all.
