Would Mason get in the Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea teams? Not in a billion years, he is a very good mid table player but is not good enough for the highest level, which is where we need to be, nice guy, works hard, but we want to win things and we won't with the likes of Mason, ship him out and bring in someone that can take us to the next level

Is this the Ryan Mason thread?

Interesting news inregards to the possible last player Spurs are looking at re: the JJ snippets earlier in the thread. I to, like most of you have a suggestion, but I hear that jam jar lid being opened so I shall save it.

There's a Ryan Mason thread and i'm sitting here wondering why this stuff isn't being posted in there. Can someone, preferably one of the perps, please PM me explaining the thought process behind spamming this thread with it as opposed to posting it where it belongs. I'd like to help you, there's absolutely no reason you can't live a full life interacting with other human beings outside the home.

Well we will have to see, but he was far from the managers favourite player/person at the back end of last season, and if you know him you will know that.

Maybe things are all rosey now, and he has been bumped up the pecking order. I just think at his age he should be playing every week and as you say there are two in front of him already in his preffered AM spot.

It was unfound media speculation that Poch was pissed off with Mason and Son after Newcastle (just 2+2=5 because of the half-time subs). Poch asked a lot of Mason to delay his operation and play through the pain for 4 months, also sacrificing his place at the Euros. Mason was quite upset by his hampered performances, but Poch got him in at the end of the season and told him he was grateful and had important plans for him next season.

Son's actually in a similar position, although his foot condition has been slowly improving with time.

For the benefit of those who weren't around last night here's a couple of posts from JJ
Not for the RO FFS or twitter please
Doubt it ;)
we are looking at a few maybes that could be worth it but cant spill the beans as its one of those frequent ones that might evaporate. Not really an AM though at this point.
Still not totally across what is 'really' driving the Gotze story but can give my opinion which is a not likely if that helps?

Really helps us getting the business done early this year and not having to get lots of players. This is what stability in coaching and squad helps you achieve. We needed some depth which we've got and we wont be throwing away silly money like Pool or Chelsea on just ok players.

I'm really excited about the prospect of stability and coming into a season hitting the ground running, while all our rivals are trying to bed in new coaches/half a dozen players/systems. I'm not sure we've had this since at least 2010 when we only brought in Rafa and Gallas.

I'd say apart for a really strong back up goalkeeper our squad isn't really deficient in any areas. I know some people are happy enough with Vorm, but he's a bit of a liability to me.

From JJ's info it looks like we're done unless there's a bargain to be had (end of TW deals). I think we're covered for almost every eventuality, would I like extra cover, yep but it's not necessary and Poch loves a slimmed down squad both literally and figuratively

A club going in the right direction, although exciting for supporters high player turnover is a sign of a turbulent environment.

Bit boring though ain't it :(

It's weird and unsettling, we've a manager we all trust, amazing training ground, squad (which has been improved) that challenged for the title, champions league and a new stadium on the way. WTF I want my Tottenham back ;)

It feels weird that we don't have any glaring holes in the squad now and we still have a month and a half to go of the window. I completely agree with JJs comments regarding squad stability. However it makes the transfer window a little uneventful now. At least we're still looking for something. A young keeper may be good, a couple enw additions to the academy and if someone of top quality is available hopefully a surprise signing before the window closes.

1-2 new arrivals a year is ideal - an indication that you are successful and that the production line is working.

Winning is much more fun than human resources. Because we've had so little of the former over the past 25 years, we've perhaps become a bit too fixated on the latter.
