Reading between the ITK lines ..I don`t think Perreira is/was our 1st choice for right back
Respectfully disagree mate. By definition, we must have been trying to sign Perreira for the transfer to be in a position to collapse, and as both JJ and Trix stated that our first choices were very much still in play as little as 2 days ago, I'm not sure how you can make that inference. Trix said "told we are still going after the same players we were from the start" and JJ, "Yep nothing has changed from our initial targets", also, at the beginning of the window, Hertyid said, "Told Walker nearly done , RB in too replace pretty sure is Perriera". I don't think you need to read between those lines mate. They seem pretty self-explanatory. Take it all with a pinch of salt of course mate, but I get the sense that the consensus amongst our top ITKs was that Perreira was very much the front runner.

I haven't heard Storts mentioned in a long time. Hopefully not more bad news.

Everyone interprets the ITK as they see it...I still hold my opinion that I don`t believe Perriera was first choice, simply an option we were interested in...maybe we will never know...as an aside Grey Fox agrees with me......:)....doesn`t mean I`m right and you're wrong or vice versa...

I'm trying to think along these lines on Keita Balde but based on what @JJetset has been saying it seems Juventus have had a breakthrough, and that's where the player wants to go.

I'd love the Lazio chairman to be a prick about it and say he'll sell abroad, but even then the player could hold on and join Juve on a free next season...

Ah ok it's just(with all ITK) always open to interpretation if difinitives aren't given. JJ's info(as good as it is) is often without context, which due to how some people react to both negative and positive news is understandable. If JJ has definitely said he's going elsewhere then fine I expect that to be the case. If all he has said is it's off, then all that means is its off as of right now. As I have said before lots of deals look lost, only for one side to give a little, and things are back on.

Yeah like I said mate, respectfully disagree with you on this one. Let's just hope Poch gets a right back he wants and needs eh mate? I'm guessing we'd both agree on that!

Very true, and I hope so in this case. Agree with the other stuff also was just speaking about this specific case looking dead based on the ITK.

I totally agree with your statement, except the bit in bold.
ITK suggests we are onto some targets.
I'd rather we waited to bring in quality targets at a fee we can afford than pay for someone who's average just to get them in earlier.
Agreed. Also this isn't like 5-10 years back when we needed a lot of players because we had a pretty weak squad or clear areas to improve, we've now had a settled squad for 3 years and our first XI is almost impossible to realistically improve, if by waiting a few weeks more that means that we bring in the right player then fine as I think in theory trippier bad luck injury aside we should be fine to start the season and team and squad should have enough to get past Newcastle and Chelsea and Burnley, if however we end up bringing in 2nd rate targets like we did with sissoko then it will have been a big failure and we should've acted sooner and just paid a bit more.

We shall see...
