One aspect with all of these current transfer rumours that needs to be firmly noted and taken into consideration is exactly what Paratici is using as bait to attract some of these players we are approaching. We finished in 7th spot last year and European glory next season lies in the newly formed Europa Conference League, hardly a huge juicy worm to dangle in front of the big fish. There is a possibility that our world class striker may be moving out and the club has brought in a new management team that is without any previous major success history. It will be testament to his DOF skills if he does manage to bring in some real quality over the next month.
Fabio is probably pitching his sales talk as high as he can at the moment when players such as Kounde and Romero are mentioned. What he is doing however is trying to establish a base line for the next window. Get these new guys in and hopefully Nuno and his staff can then do their bit by integrating everybody into a footballing squad that begins to show the media and rival clubs positive signs of being a re-awakening giant.
I am sure he will do everything he can to ensure that Spurs are a much more attractive proposition to the top players out there next time the window opens. I fully expect to hear about him still never being off his mobile phone then but maybe the majority of calls will be incoming enquiries about playing for Spurs rather than outgoing ones from Fabio.
Your points are very valid ones but quality players also seek trophy/title wins as well as financial reward. You have to remember that the players we are talking to have probably only ever heard of the club's facilities via online / news media articles. Fabio needs to prove to these guys that the Spurs 'star' is a rising one and this would be a wonderful opportunity for them to become part of a very special team and successful era at the club. Not an easy task but I'm sure he's up for the challenge. We might have lost some of our glamour but the PL is a difficult league full of huge teams, someone big is going to finish 6th every year like it or not.
What we do still have is fantastic facilities and not forgetting we are a very good payer compared to many clubs.
3 little words to ruin it all...
The Kane money.
Rob may of heard, or read the sun. They say Kane going to City for £160m. Could be interesting, if that’s the word, if we announce the new “Fab Four” tomorrow.
None intended, and I did say "may". Timing is everything, as they say, and yours was spot on. It was only what many were thinking after ValanciaYids comments the other day. There's at least one insult in there, maybe two
Pretty sure I posted before the Sun story broke but either way, I hadn't seen it.
