Interesting parallels. The goons certainly picked up when welbeck returned to challenge giroud, albeit not for too long! Bony misfired, United were too thin up top and the Russians had no decent cover for Costa. A major reason why we managed to finish so high? Probably, although a lot of dodgy cb pairings helped too.

But the point is these rivals will be adding goal power, and we need to keep up by doing the same, ready for the poch preseason.
