The glaring weakness in the team was another dynamic forward. Liverpool won a title without a creative midfielder, that wasn't what was missing. But we're playing a 4-3-3 relying on Moura/Bergwijn who have one decent game in ten when we could have got someone who can transform our attack.

Watch us all sitting here next summer after finishing 5th/6th talking about how we have no money to spend because we didn't get CL. It's fucking boring every year having a player right there and choosing not to go for it over £5mil. How expensive do all those decisions look now when compared to 2 years without CL money? Useless

Its not pessimism, its realism. The City game was good, but the way we battled and scraped wins against Wolves and Watford is not sustainable. Our main creative players are either not bothered (Ndombele) or will be missing large parts of the season (Lo Celso). Dele isn't creative enough, and way too much pressure to put on Gill this season.

I liked some of our patterns of attacking play in those two games though. I am hopeful that given time the players will learn and grow into the system Nuno is trying to implement. It looks to me like the players are having to look to find passes at the moment and are not quite expecting/getting used to where people will be.

We've heard from several sources now that things were progressing nicely until Levy got involved.

• Refused to sanction the Traore deal (with the only offer we made being insultingly low).
• Is adament that we're creating enough chances and have enough attackers as it is.
• Refuses to consider moving on Bergwign to free up space/finances.

Tensions are high right now and that might mean he caves in the final few hours but I think we're all expecting it to be over and no one's happy about it.
