Alvaro Pereira. Has been benched and out of favor so far this season at Inter, potentially available at a cheap price (or on loan), which will appeal to Levy. Has loads of big match experience, but most importantly: has worked with AVB before. AVB went for him while he was at Chelsea, but Porto wanted too much money for him.

Given Baldini's Serie A contacts, he makes sense on every conceivable level.

Except that he's average at best. Take it from someone who has watched him a lot. I'd rather keep what we've got.

Unfortunately with missing out Draxler that is not quite possible. A more practical altenative is Arsenal somewhat screw up Oezil.

Chadli = dead end.

Lennon = dead end.

Chadli + Lennon + Lamela = 2 dead end and 1 uncertain output.

Lamela + Townsend + Draxler/Griezmann means 3 uncertainty, but 3 uncertainty means at least 1 or 2 could be reasonablly expected as valid solution.

Well, if we sell Lennon hopefully it means another winger is coming in (Hulk?). You all know I'm not a big fan of Hulk, but in terms of balancing the books/squad, it almost makes sense despite them being very different types of wingers/wide forward.

I remember that from somewhere and think it was ITK on here.

Besides hasn't it been said over and over again that Shaw wants to stay at Southampton and help the team there, only just signed a new contract there.

Yeah that was stated a few weeks back. I'd be surprised if we got him this year but I'm also surprised AVB was not interested.
