People say we haven't sign any pacey players, but important to remember we haven't lost any either. Surprisingly, Nkoudou and Sissoko are still here.

I hope the lesson Levy takes from this window into the summer is not to dick around until the last minute only to trot out the 'we tried but couldn't get it done' or wait for other teams to spend their money but that in the summer we actually go out and get our targets early before the next bout of hyper inflation takes hold.

We should be identifying some key players early and going out and getting them early like we did with Modric, that turned out pretty ok...
He won't learn anything he has done this year after year. I can't even be bothered to complain about him anymore.

Would people rather have had us make a panic buy to slot somebody into the right attack position or would you rather not sign somebody now and try and bring a player we really want in for January? I know what I would rather have.
we have Sissoko there, anyone would be an improvement

To be fair we were told that we were getting a lot of these things we didn't get so I can see why people got their hopes up. It sounded very much like a foregone conclusion.

I'm very happy with the majority of our business, just worried we don't have the depth of attacking options, especially in our CL. Llorente is a very good purchase however.

But it happens literally every window. Some ITKs obvs get info from upbeat spurs connections and am sure we're going for big signings but I always listen to the more sombre ITKs and anything more is a bonus.

IF we had no ITK saying gamechangers etc., am sure that most would be happy with the window.

The signings we've made allow Poch to play the way he wants much more fluidly without the need to rely on players he doesn't trust.

I reckon he had 15 players he trusted last season and we've now increased that to 18. It's still not the 20 I'd have liked but it's moving in the right direction

Take itk with a pinch of salt and you might be a bit happier in life.
I can't speak for him, but I imagine Tucker may be put out with the non-arrival of an attacking midfielder mostly because he feels we are light in those positions, rather than because he was unduly hyped up by the ITK info we've had this summer and he failed to apply sufficient salt.

For me there were two key things we needed to do this summer.

1. Not lose any key players, asides from Walker.
2. Improve the squad.

We succeeded on both these points IMO. I'm not sure we needed a pacey wide player, frankly wasn't a concern last season and shouldn't be one this season. What we did need was another attacking midfielder for the squad, so a shame we missed out there, however for me that was the only negative in an otherwise very positive window.
