So Sky are reporting we've had a £15m bid for Llorente accepted by Swansea and West brom have bid of £25m for Janssen. Wanted Janssen to succeed so much but is it just better to accept bid and move on?
Personally mate I don't think we gave him much of a chance. If Poch don't want, it's fair game.

If we sell Vincent for 25m, buy Llorente for 15m and use the profit towards another pacy forward then everyone will be happy with that surely?

So, BBC reporting we've had a bid accepted for Llorente.
Look at Spurs transfer MO, typically young(ish) players with low to medium wages and potential for sell on, does Llorente really fit?
Look at our playing style, high intensity, high press, don't play with out and out wingers relentlessly whipping crosses into the box, does Llorente really fit?

Media games maybe, smoke and mirrors for someone else?

At least our corners might finally present a threat!

Llorente would be a good plan B. Will be good at set peices and give us a good physical presence up front. I like this deal if it comes off.

Naybet and davids say high.

I'm not entirely against Llorente, but just seems to go against what we've been doing of late. Maybe he's deemed the missing piece, as you say, that Naybet/Davids type older head. If the media and ITK about him being a virtual straight swap for Janssen in terms of a place within our squad, plus us pocketing cash to go towards the much discussed pacy/versatile wide forward, seems vaguely feasible, just a bit out of character. Let's wait and see.

I would say it's a no-brainer - and I am one of those who gives the benefit of the doubt to Janssen.

If Llorente has one season with us he'll be knocking on 34. He'll have almost no value. So we're saying we're willing to spend 15m on a player with possibly no sell on value, who maybe stays 12-24 months.

If that's the case, I don't want to hear we wouldn't bid 30-40m for really good prospects who are younger, who will go up in value, after playing for us for 3 or 4 years.

If the Llorente/Janssen scenario were to come to pass, wouldn't that put us at around +40m for spending this summer? Decent amount of change for that pacy forward we need...

Interesting purchase, much better option off the bench then janssen who is a dud.
Frankly I'm shocked west brom are offering more than we paid for a player who I don't think has scored 1 league goal in open play surrounded by Alli, eriksen and son.

Nice guy though, if he leaves hope he does well accept against us

I'm sorry I love Vinny, but we have to start being ruthless now. We can't wait around for him to come good. Get Llorente in for £10m cheaper, the guys an animal and would definitely be a good backup for Kane and guarantee goals.

Then use that £10m profit to go towards a quality pacey wide player, a so called "gamechanger."

Llorente would have been great 5-6 years ago but he's not really what we need. I'm not against signing him but it's nothing to get excited about. Would actually rather Janssen got 1 more season, tbh.

It's time that people recognized that we are no longer an upstart club on the outside looking in. Our manager is ruthlessly ambitious. He felt humiliated during last year's Champions League debacle, and he isn't going to stand for that happening again. This squad is ready to compete right now for honors, not five years from now. The club's turnover will hit 300 million pounds this summer without the new stadium, and West Brom have reportedly offered 25 million pounds for a striker in Janssen who isn't a good fit for Pochettino's system and is very low on confidence.

Stop worrying about resale value and enjoy the fact that the footballing needs of the club are being put above the financial needs of balancing the books. We've had to grind our way here this decade, so enjoy it. I've watched him play for the last decade and I'm certain Llorente will win us points we'd lose otherwise this upcoming season (though he started pre-season late cause of a broken arm from cycling). I'm certain everyone will be happy with this in a few months time.
