Totally agree, untill i got to SCOUTS!!..didnt know we had any! if we have then they dont do fuck all!! :)

Seriously, why is this old chestnut persisted with?

How did we latch onto Sandro, Modric, coulibaly, Walker, BAE and a host of others?

We have Scouts, some of which find diamonds, some of which don't. There are also a host of other clubs with scouts, clubs which may have more pull than us. There are work permit regulations that prevent us from bringing in many.

Despite all the above we have a Nextgen that is tearing all and sundry a new one regularly, including the best of the Barca crop. They didn't all knock on the gates of WHL pleading for an opportunity, they were scouted. The primary function of a scouting network is to find that 'next generation' quality so ours, in a pretty cut throat environment, aren't doing too bad really.

Yeah if true absolute pair of idiots. Surely actually playing is what you would want. Been sitting in our reserves getting nice big wages for long enough to be able to have a ridiculously comfotable life, no worries when they retire, and not getting any younger. You would SURELY want to be playing again?!!! I'm actually choking on my own rage. Ugh:banghead:

Whey! Fisrt neg rep! Had to come some time but i though it would be for something more controversial than this post!

You will never know how ironic this post this

hilarious response, you cool thing... shame it took you half an hour to finish "dumbing" people before you managed to type it, but we all understand your priorities! Two things:

1. For you to think bromawhingey was directed at you, means you acknowledge you're whingey. (y)

2. I'm obviously not as much of an unbearable dick as you're suggesting, or you'd have me on ignore and therefore wouldn't have seen it... that goes for you too colon-al dax - one of the pounds was definitely 'cos of you :)...

I think both JJ and Bentley know that no one else is going to match there wages on a new contract bearing in mind their recent records, so to get the best deals they will try to see out their contracts and then get a signing on fee from their next club to compensate for lower contracts.
It's gonna be hard to shift them, we might even have to pay them to go.

Im not sure but at some point the general level of self importance of SC members got waaay out of control.

I didnt actually dumb any posts today, so the first line in your post is just baltantly wrong. Using the group 'we' implies to me that you are hoping you gather a 'posse' of similar posters to yourself to galvanise some sort of campaign? but Im guessing, and to be honest its not high on my list of concerns.
By similar I mean, those who think that every post they make is one of 2 things; 1 - the single most funny thing ever written on any forum on the internet ever OR 2 - actually... is it always an attempt at humour?

I have never considered you to be nor implied that you are an unbearable dick, so I fail to see whay you would suggest that I suggested it? The irony is definitely lost on you.

But again, I find myself responding against my better judgement - so feel free to get the last word in with some clever comment that will have 3/4 of the internet in hysterics!

*Holds people in thread up by their ankles and shakes them

You can donate by going to the home page http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php then clicking on the yellow 'donate' button located to the right hand side of the page. You don't need a Paypal account, just a credit or debit card and your donation is secure.

Please help us out and in return you'll get that warmy gooey glow one gets when they do something good. At least i'm told that's what happens when you do something good. I wouldn't know.

I 'm locking this thread for a few minutes to give this post maximum exposure, can someone please re-open it in a short while as I have to go out now.

I have an appointment at the doctors for a scrape :cautious:

Don't get paid until next Friday, just paid my rent & water etc, but donated what I could afford today. Will up it after pay day :(

Hello mate, long time no see on here. Who's things?

I agree that Hooper simply isn't the answer to anything right now. If we were selling Defoe and bringing him in as his replacement then ok, but i just don't see where Hooper fits in to our current team.

He will be there after Bale's and Defoe's 25 Yard strikes which are parried by the goalkeeper for tap ins !!!!! Trying hard to see the plus side on everything !!

awww darling, don't be annoyed! we = posse? no. just my split personalities... don't start suggesting that you don't dumb people for not much of a reason dude - probably to get the same "thrill" you're suggesting I get by trying to be funny on the net, which I am. :banghead:

my 4th PM on this forum was from you, back in August, and you signed off with:

You were right about one thing though, I do like to give people a hard time, but usually because I consider them to be 'internet' stupid!
then the other day you came in here and said "I'm gonna have such fun dumbing you lot tomorrow" or similar.

so I would have to agree self importance is somewhat of an issue with some in here. Now where's that kissing smiley..?

I highlighted the bold bit because I don't think we are tearing up the nextgen at all :(
we currently sit third in an admittedly difficult group. That aside I agree with the general sentiment of your statement

I don't think our scouts are bad. We are in a difficult position atm trying to establish ourselves as a champions league side without the luxury of champions league money. We cant afford to go and buy 5-10 players every year in the hope 1 of them will come good. This was an acceptable strategy whilst we were trying to establish ourselves as a team that consistently qualified for the europa league and had no real playing assets Ledley excluded.

The amount of crying that goes on in this thread makes me chuckle, take a step back for 5 seconds do some reading look how far we have come since we started this project in 2004. Sure we have suffered some setbacks, we could accuse our dear leader of failing to capitalise on a few occasions but we as a club are a different beast to the one i supported as a kid and it warms my cockles.

We consistently sign good players and hopefully will continue to do so, what makes me even happier is we appear to spend to our means which means when we do achieve something it will be all the sweeter.
Leandro Damiao, Gary Hooper or whoever else we get linked to will represent a risk but one thing I am certain of is that the club will sign players they hope will push us forward.

So in summary STOP BLOODY WHINGING

While I agree with you generally, it's not a project for me. I support Spurs. It's a lifelong commitment.
