I highlighted the bold bit because I don't think we are tearing up the nextgen at all :(
we currently sit third in an admittedly difficult group. That aside I agree with the general sentiment of your statement

I don't think our scouts are bad. We are in a difficult position atm trying to establish ourselves as a champions league side without the luxury of champions league money. We cant afford to go and buy 5-10 players every year in the hope 1 of them will come good. This was an acceptable strategy whilst we were trying to establish ourselves as a team that consistently qualified for the europa league and had no real playing assets Ledley excluded.

The amount of crying that goes on in this thread makes me chuckle, take a step back for 5 seconds do some reading look how far we have come since we started this project in 2004. Sure we have suffered some setbacks, we could accuse our dear leader of failing to capitalise on a few occasions but we as a club are a different beast to the one i supported as a kid and it warms my cockles.

We consistently sign good players and hopefully will continue to do so, what makes me even happier is we appear to spend to our means which means when we do achieve something it will be all the sweeter.
Leandro Damiao, Gary Hooper or whoever else we get linked to will represent a risk but one thing I am certain of is that the club will sign players they hope will push us forward.

So in summary STOP BLOODY WHINGING

I stand corrected on the Nextgen, good post.

Again i'd like to give huge thanks to those of you who donated this morning.

It is with great sadness that I have to report SC is struggling financially. So much so, that the Mayor of Niceville (Rob) had to go out last night pimping his buttocks to raise funds for SC. It is with even greater sadness that I must report Rob's efforts brought in just £2.50. He told me he had tight rosy cheeks.......it must have been cryptic ITK.

So here I am again, asking for your help. Where else can you go and get this much fun? No other site has such a diverse collection of ****s and such warm friendliness and banter. (Until you give neg rep that is) Unrivalled ITK coverage, laughter, fun and backstabbing. All on a daily basis.

So I call on everyone to support our noble undertaking. Those of you who are sensible, those of you who are a bit loopy and even those of you who are worringly perverted. So men, women and mushmalts of SC, thou must diggeth deep into thy purses, to help keep SC going.

And this donation shall the good man teach his son;
And Spurs Community shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his cash with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And Spurs fans who don't donate
Shall think themselves accursed that they were so tight,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That donated with us upon SC's donation day.

Thread closed for 10 minutes for maximum exposure, or until we've raised a monkey, whichever comes first............your patience and donations in the meanwhile are appreciated.

I think both JJ and Bentley know that no one else is going to match there wages on a new contract bearing in mind their recent records, so to get the best deals they will try to see out their contracts and then get a signing on fee from their next club to compensate for lower contracts.
It's gonna be hard to shift them, we might even have to pay them to go.

Been wondering why we haven't made them an offer (perhaps we have) and forget any transfer fees. Find it highly unlikely that even West Ham or QPR would pay a fee for them now. I don't know what the contract lengths are but I'd be offering them 75% of the value in cash now. Otherwise I also see them just sitting around taking the money

Yesterday we got into a finance discussion, and I don't want to restart it, but during that Misfit had one brilliant sentence that explains all of the so called "deadwood" players and it's something we all tend to overlook. While we don't pay top wages, we still pay better than 90% of the teams in the world, so our deadwood have wages that most teams can't pay. So the only team that has the ability and would want some of our rarely used players would be QPR. But Harry didn't play those guys all that often either, so him being there stops us being able to shift them. So we have to hope they will take a cut in pay (which they normally won't) or that their contract expires. The one caveat to that, is Levy extending some of them. That seems a bit daft.

Jenas and Gallas contracts run out this summer I think, Bentley must have one more year :(

Cant see anyone taking Bentley or JJ now, that must be £80,000- £100,000 a week we are paying for players who are as much help to the club as I would be.

Hoping Gomes leaves which should us help pay Holtby wages.

If we sold both of them for only 1 million each, and paid half their wages - then assuming they are on 50k per week and have 2 years left (say), we would be saving 7 million.
