I personally think we'll go for Remy if it is a flat NO then we'll be back in for Leandro.

Levy is ambitious so if Harry feels we need a mid season boost to help our title challenge them i'm sure he will backed.

or this entire window.

Unfortunately, this is the vibe I'm getting through my spider senses too.

Unsurprising really when one considers our track record during January's past of trying sign a player, in a position, that we actually need, i.e. a striker.

Staggering, when you realise that we actually only 'own' two recognised senior strikers (Defoe and Pav) Eek

It's blatantly obvious that we need to strengthen up top. I just wish we would pursue player's that are attainable instead of constantly going after people like aguero, rossi, remy etc who we never get anywhere near to signing.

We should be looking for the next Berbatov or someone who won't cost the earth like:

Bundesliga - Lewandowski, Pape Cisse, Derdiyok, Podolski.
Italy - Jovetic (pricey)
Holland - Dost, Mertens, Toivonen, Janko,
France - Giroud

There all young players with maybe the exception of Podolski, playing well and scoring goals. Would much rather replace Pav or Defoe with one of these than chase a pipe dream or spend £20m plus on Remy.

Regarding Remy, he won't come. The president, Deschamps and remy discussed together and I think the answer is a straight big No. Just heard the interview.

The difference is though, that when we signed Berbatov, we were a UEFA cup standard team withe the HOPE of attaining CL, and Berba was a bit of a punt that turned out to better than we could ever have dreamed of.

Now, we are a CL standard team that needs to sign a CL quality striker, and that will require spending big money and big wages, and it's the wages that will always be the stumbling block.

They published an interview of those 3 discussing any moves? or you just talking about the interview from last night which he pretty much has to say he's staying or he'd end up losing any loyalty bonus which may exist.

At the end of the day every player has a price.

I know what you mean and the mentioned players may not be champions league standard (yet) but I would still say that they are or have the potential to be better than Defoe and most definately better than Pav.

Yet here you are, reading the thread like everyone else.
No offence intended, it's just one thing to read it, take it with a pinch of salt and see what happens, another to be hanging on every word and eagerly slavering over further information at 9.30 in the morning when someone you've never met, and know nothing about has suggested that there will 'information today'. I just think some people would do well to apply a bit of context to the information, remember the lessons of history, and calm down a bit.

What you suggest is impossible and would require levels of sensibility hitherto unseen within in the realms of SC.

I think they are having a laugh with that offer
I think I'd sell for that, if I was Man City. An extra five or six million makes little difference to them, his wage demands are such that few clubs in the world will be prepared to take on the expense of the full package required to sign him so City's chances of getting rid are automatically reduced, he's trouble if he stays, and they've got plenty of other attacking options and the capability to buy more if needed.

Alternatively, Mancini has been publicly complaining about money not being made available and having to sell before they buy, because Citeh are having to balance the books due to the impact of the UEFA fair play regs

Good, let's offer them £2m for Adebayor.
