Can't see us signing an A-grade striker. If we were going to sign someone's best striker, for big money, then it's now too late in the window for that club to replace him. I always have this problem with big-money deals supposedly happening in the last day or two of the window.
If it's to be Leandro, it won't until the summer.
The only things I can see happening is us taking an unwanted player from somewhere on loan, or us doing some sort of swap deal - ie Gio for Nilmar, but even then it's going to involve bringing in someone's who is fringe elsewhere and they wouldn't mind swapping for Gio, who's not exactly box office himself.
I think it'll be moves for the summer, loans or bits and pieces swaps all the way, if anything, this window folks.
I very much hope to be proved wrong.

Same here - hopefully we see one (or more) or those moves today, or some good ITK, then I'd expect the chaos to begin

I reckon you're spot on, but have the feeling that this was Dan's plan all along.

We traditionally don't do too much business in Jan & for some reason we think that because we didn't do too much in the summer, and we are in a good league position) we will be splashing the cash now. I just can't see it happening, and the ITK points to a bigger and better summer 2012 than 2011. We should (emphasis on SHOULD) be a better proposition with good football, players on decent new contracts (Modric, Bale, et al) and possible Champs League footy to entice the right calibre of player.

Yes he did, but let's exercise a little caution. He seems a perfectly nice chap who very kindly delivers information on a regular basis, but none of us really know who he is, or where that info comes from.

well if he is itk he seems to be talking about stuff for summer which makes me very suss tbh. it just prolongs this itk stuff an sense of mystery thing but who cares really... we seem to be wrapping up all sorts of deals for summer but i have funny feeling with euro's and everything esle coming up in summer it will be another long one and add to that the fact we might lose a manager then i think all this looking good for the summer talk is a bit odd

I really don't understand and never have, why a club would agree a pre-contract sale for the summer. Why prevent yourself from attracting further or higher bids from other clubs in the coming months, unless of course it's a player so heinous that you don't want to keep him and don't believe it possible that any other club could possibly wish to bid for him.

Would have thought with the Euros and everything coming up it made perefct sense to lign up the deals now:shrug:.

I also think playesr prefer to have their future sorted before these major competitions, and only foolish clubs buy off the back of a successful tournament.

But why would some players, at the high end of the market in particular, commit to a team they don't know will be in the CL next season? Its not like we are offering massive wages.

Probably because he doesn't want to verify where he gets his info from... Doesnt make him any less trustworthy than the others...just accept that not everything that is written in here will come to be and you will enjoy it a lot more..
