Yes but Njie was a centre forward (looks out of place out wide but better in a front 2) and as a result I see Janssen as the better fit for our system. Similarly neither Bentaleb or Mason are defensive midfielders but Wanyama replaces one of them. Just because they're not like for like doesn't mean they're not replacements.

I agree we messed up last summer so this summers signings corrected those issue. We had the wrong players for the roles they were needed for.

I don't disagree with any of that, but as it stands we are looking at letting go Bentaleb, Mason and Carroll and replacing them with Wanyama and also letting go N'jie, Chadli and even possibly Son and replacing with GDK and one other. I know Winks and Edwards look promising, but that is what the domestic cups and a few PL are for.

It is leaving us very light to compete seriously in both the PL and CL.

I honestly don't know what to make of this transfer window.
N'Jie and Son possibly on their way out - after barely one season!

Yedlin gone
No idea what's happened to Wimmer!

Don't we need squad players - for arguably our toughest season!!?
Even if GKN finally gets over the line, i think we look really, really light!!
