I can see someone like West Ham going in for Ings, in fact i can see us getting strumped for any player we may go for. Schniederlin is now everyone's flavour and i can see him at Arsenal before too long.

I know it's the same every year and we put ourselves through the wringer every window, we never learn do we......

Just do what a lot of us do that is dont expect Fuck all and then any tiny bit of transfer dealing
That we do will seem all is not lost and worth the stress.
We will probably let 3-4 go and bring in 1 although we need more, its a fun time to be a spurs fan.

It looks like we need to clear some spaces in the squad before we sign anyone. I can understand why Levy rejected 3m for Naughton as he's worth more in today's market but Kaboul's contract is running out, aging, poor form and a reportedly bad attitude. I would like to think him and Ade would be offered free transfers. Clear them off the wage bill, training ground and roster (sorry for the 'Americanism') and allow Poch to change the personnel and culture of the club.

Kaboul was never the same after his long lay offs. In partcular he doesn't seem to be able to get up as well for headers anymore, just lacks that spring off the knee I guess. Fazio is a straight replacement for him. What I'd like in way of a replacement is someone with a bit of pace and athletism who will fare better against the quick and tricky players. They need to be good quick on the turn too so they can get back at players who counter attack.

He would be a good fit at WHU.

I wouldn't really want us to sign anyone from overseas in January if I'm honest. Defeats the point for me.

Kaboul going works for all parties really. I have no issue with Ade staying till the summer if he is willing to play. We could do with him against Burnley totomorroto give Kane a rest.

If Ade can put in just 1 more decent display in one of the cups, it may just be enough to see him away [hopefully]. Alas I doubt that will be the case though. Wages are huge by all accounts. I also think we're stuck with him and Roberto until the summer.

How do you solve a dilema like those two? If either was going to go in January I'm guessing RS would be easier to shift. Probably on loan, back to Spain. That would at least indicate a move for Ings, if we're to believe he's on Mitchell's list

No PL club is skint, i refuse to believe that.

I'd love to get Ings in, purely for the fact that he's young, english, keen, and from what i've seen and from what's been reported, gives 100% every game. Wouldn't be cup tied for Europe and gives us another home grown.

I disagree with this, plenty of players come from abroad and settle straight in, Sanchez being an obvious one that comes to mind and demonstrates just how effective a single player signing from abroad can be. Along with the likes of Costa, Aguero, Di Maria etc...

At the more realistic level players like: Tadic, Bony, Pelle etc... prove that this can also be achieved with less spend.

Re paste fom the old thread so it isn't missed (and we have something to talk about)

Think we're gonna need a large swig of syrup of fig to remove Ade from bowels of this club!!

If we don't she'll out for Ings now I can see him going elsewhere where they can offer higher wages, it's now or never!!

I must admit, I am a bit concerned by some of the potential sales.

I don't really care about Kaboul going.

The problem lies with us selling both Lennon and Naughton.

Firstly, there's the home-grown issue but I'm sure the club know what they are doing in that respect.

If we just sell Naughton out of the two, Yedlin will become back-up and that's fine, although Chiriches would probably be a better option for now.

If we just sell Lennon, Yedlin could replace him as a RM option, and he can't do that much worse.

However, if we sell both, I think we have a problem. I've seen little evidence, if any, that we're looking to sign a Winger, which we desperately need. If we sell Lennon, and Yedlin becomes RB back-up if we sell Naughton, then we will be very short in that position and will have a very worrying lack of pace (I know @DaSpurs agrees with me on this). I know it may be possible that we could bring back Pritchard (although that's not confirmed IIRC) but he's not that quick.

I think we need to sign another Winger anyway, but with Lennon and Naughton potentially being sold and Yedlin becoming a back-up RB, I'm very concerned.

People will say that we may sign Ings and he can play there but IMO, we need another striker in addition to a winger. Won't happen, and we'll probably end up being short. Again.

Big Sam has said the Spammers are skint and it looks like other clubs are too. Naughton wants out yet Leicester have reportedly only offered an insulting £3m when he's easily worth £5-6m.

Just because Ings plays for Burnley, people are assuming he isn't good enough for us. Try watching him for both Burnley and the U21s, he's a very good player, and it's no surprise that Burnley's form has improved since Ings has returned from injury. Considering Levy hates net spend, Ings is perfect for us. People dreaming of Benteke, Lacazette etc can keep on dreaming as they're never going to happen.

The "insulting" 3 million is for a right back who is behind in the pecking order of Walker, Chiriches, Yedlin and maybe even Dier.

Just what dream World you live in is beyond me, but the fact is Naughton ain't worth jack shit in the real World of footie.

It is also about a highly experienced home grown player who has several seasons in front of him, and who can improve the defences of most of the bottom 12 PL teams. 5M is a bargain. In no world, real or imaginary, is Naughton worth only 10% of Luke Shaw for instance.
