He's 19 years old. Can we not let players get out of their teens before we write them off?

You would think that if any fans could appreciate that players can improve rapidly, it would be the fans of a club that turned a second string monkey jinx into the most expensive player of all time and a man who looks like a gormless horse into SuperJesus.

Burnley will keep Ings until summer. He's their best player and the £50m they'd get from him potentially keeping him in the league is better than the £7m we'd pay them now.

Alright, I wouldn't normally tell people I've donated, but...I've bunged you a few quid- now, as I can't really afford it, I'm going to hope you cut me some slack here... if any one needs a drystone waller, give me a shout: not only will I give you a spurs fan discount but I'll also donate 5% of the price to SC.

That only benefits burnley. We need him now for the rest of this season. For all we know better strikers maybe available in the summer.
But Burnley likely won't sell in those circumstances, whereas this would secure his services now before he is poached by another team. Whether we truly need him now also depends on the other players we have and if we can shift any out as if we can't sell Ade or Soldado, we won't have squad size.

As for better targets in summer, you can't gamble on that. If a player is good enough now it is because you think he is good enough full stop. We wouldn't buy Ings for now and then if a better striker came along in the summer get them to replace Ings... so he is either good enough or not.

They're completely different players. It's like comparing Chadli and Kane.

So what you're saying is, we must spend this season proclaiming they're shit, and will never be good enough for the PL/THFC then, next season, we'll have some real quality in our ranks?

For what we paid for both kyle's at the time & considering what Walker must be worth now, combined with the fact that Naughton is a championship level defender (in my eyes), i'd say bite Leicesters hands off @ 3million. Free's up a valueable space in the squad for someone better to come in. Those that are asking for more have a touch of the Levy's about them, greedy buggers

Mate, when it comes to actually being a 'defender' , Naughton is twice as good as Walker will ever be. So I'd love to know what value you place upon Forrest Walker's head?

Fair play to you fella! (y) , and a 'winner' rating to go with your kind donation (y). If everyone had the same attitude as you, and just donated as little as they can genuinely spare, @Rob and @Archibald&Crooks wouldn't need to continually seek donations from members of the site. How many thousands of members are there? Just a quid or 2 each = costs pretty much covered, and nobody needs to be concerned about A&C's extremely worrying reputation as a sexual deviant

Sorry to disagree LS but I don't think Naughton is as poor at defending as you say, although he isn't great, but, IMO he is better than Walker at defending.

In the world of defenders? You disagree, that's fair enough, I can respect that. I happen to want more from my 'defenders' than just being able to run fast & then blame everyone else because of not being able to comprehend what "being in position" means. See that, I was able to respond without needing to proclaim Walker is shit, but simply pointing out that he's massively overrated & pretty much incapable of basic defending (y)

All good, onions will differ. There's a reason why when both are fit, Walker gets the nod. There's also a reason why Walker got called up to the England squad & Naughton hasn't. Its not purely speed related in my eyes. I always feel safer wit Walker in the back 4 than i ever do with Naughton in there. Doesn't really matter as Naughton will be off soon anyways. Cheers

Furry muff, your entitled to have your say, but I still disagree with you. i'd take Walker hands down over Naughton every time. He's got more in locker than just running fast.

Good man. In my defence, I did also say that Walker excelled at being out of position  .. He's also excellent at giving away ridiculous free-kicks & blaming everyone else when he's cocked up, which is rather frequently :D. Still, there's been no ITK about Walker, sadly for me, so we'd better shut the hell up before we're both beaten with the ban stick :censored:

God it's quiet.

Can't wait for these windows to be demolished.

If it's quiet it usually means nothing is close to happening. We've had bits of info on Kaboul and naughton so they must be the closest to possibly leaving. If they go hopefully we will get someone exciting come in......or hopefully just someone!
