Begovic's quality has dipped massively this season - lots of errors. There's a reason why Hughes is preparing Butland to take over next year.

Adrian is the stand out goalie in the league that is attainable. Forster too, but obviously he's out til next year.

I agree with the bit about Adrian being the "best of the rest" in the league and would be pleased if we signed him but I think West Ham would rather offer him £100k a week than sell him to us. Not a big fan of Forster though.

It's a shame Hart got back into favour and is proving himself as a top 'keeper, if only Pantillimon had taken his chances last season we could've had a chance of getting him.

If we do lose Lloris I think we're better off taking our time in considering the replacement, we'll need real quality to step into his shoes so I wouldn't want us to rush into signing Begovic, or Forster, or whoever only to find a top 'keeper becomes available later in the window.

As for these Jerries, I'd suspect one of them is Kramer.

Another worth mentioning would be Geis' midfield partner, Julian Baumgartlinger at Mainz. Baumgartlinger's contract expires this summer, and he's yet to sign an extension with Mainz. Word is West Ham have already been in contact with him trying to convince him to move to England. Good player, surprisingly quick for a well-built, six foot fella. Would do very well in Poch's press IMO.

Are you referring to Ki? He's just had minor surgery.
Carroll was held out of the squad due to Shelvey's presence. The post i quoted insinuated that the cryptic could be in reference to someone holding Carroll out of Swansea's squad, when he was fit, and the poster said it was Ki, which it wasnt. Ki was there best CM and wasnt dropped. But each time Shelvey was dropped, Carroll got the start.

Swansea also bought Jack Cork in January. As soon as they realised they could get Cork for a lot less than Carroll, they dropped Carroll entirely. Cork has played all 90 minutes of every one of Swansea's 14 games since the 7th February, and Carroll has only appeared once since then, at the end of February.

Yeah, I know that. Carroll got hurt soon after the january window, though. They bought Cork because we wouldnt commit to sell Carroll to them, for some reason. But the point remains that Carroll was held out of the squad by Shelvey at the beginning of the season.

Carroll actually wasn't hurt but for nearly another two months after the winter window, so his exclusion was almost certainly after they acknowledged he wasn't going to eventually be a Swansea player (especially when you consider the fact they bought Cork within a few weeks of Monk saying he'd like to sign Carroll permanently).

Tom's nemesis = Jerry?

I dunno, I'm awful at these, just a thought.

This.

I am reasonably certain he means Jerry. Both players are from Germany.

For younger readers, Jerry is the nickname attributed to the German forces in the Second World War. Trix is of an age/background where this is a common enough reference.

There now follows many lovely pages of people guessing German midfielders, followed by even more lovely moments of A&C banning your sorry arses. I could advise you not to fall into this trap, but I know from painful experience it would be pointless.
