Looking forward to your Friday 13th lyrics A&C
I don't for one moment believe we will be paying Ade 150k per week
I don't for one moment believe we will be paying Ade 150k per week
Again, as we do not know the logistics of it all, we can only assume somehow we are managing to offer more money.Even with investment, you'd have to put a fair few others on wages nearing that for it to not have a negative impact on the dressing room.
Remember that £150k p/w is £7.5m a season, while Luka is on a reported £2.5m... If the club still want the little Croatian at the club then offering wages like that would be the first thing to try. I don't buy it.
Think of it as a way of supporting Togo. He said with smug humility....Really hope that we aren't paying ade that sort of cash. Stupid breaking the wage structure for a mercenary who isn't our best player.
More likely to be a lower wage than that but a lump sum up front to compensate - which DL will have shaved off the asking price from City
I understand that Ade, is not earning 150k pw and hopefully should be announced in the next
I saw Daniel Levy cleaning the windows once. When he pulled his shammy out a £2 coin fell out of his pocket, as he climbed down the ladder to get it, it hit him on the head.Morning all....new shirts day is here. The gateway to official unveiling of new players!
Have to say I disagree with the latest bit of ITK, DL would fight for the last penny even if he suddenly got the keys to Joe Lewis' bank vault of cash......people with money tend to be like that.
Hoping for investment though

In answer to this post you made yesterday:
I'm sorry I just don't understand why most think this is impossible(last 2-3days) Remembering that, pinch of salt are needed for ITK, expecting the itk to get all of the info 100% correct is a stretch, I mean if you just at the word equivalent to 150k PW. We all know signing on fees exists, So why can't the pack be signing on fee and wages? I don't think any of you think Levy wouldn't pay around 20mill plus 70k wages, for the "right striker" which equals a total commitment of 31 mil approx. SO why wouldn't we pay Man C 5 mil, and Abe a 10mill signing on fee(spread over 3 years) and 70k pw? (equals equivalent about 145kpw.). I agree that a stumbling block may well be age (ROCE) but i think after 2 years we would get 7-10mil for him.
I think the easiest way to think about it is..Is Abe worth a price tag of 15mill? (wage of around 70kpw) Because that is what it is going to cost us, Its just expressed differently.
for my 2 pence worth, he is worth that, Equally there may be potential better options out there with the same total cost, ones that may also offer a better potential ROCE.
Even if we sell him after two years for 10m we will be taking a loss of 11m. What if he gets injured and we can't sell him (quite likely the older players get). Or he has two relatively poor seasons and no-one will pay more than 7m. Our best case is a 14m loss for two years.
The easiest way may be to think "is Adebayor worth 15m", but it isn't the correct way (or way Levy can or does think). The correct way for a club in our position (15m represents 2-3 years total company profits some years) is to think does this deal make financial sense re risk/reward potential.
Buying a 23-25yo with a similar outlay sometimes does. Buying a 28yo doesn't. Unless something has changed.
