Ade has said he has options and Defoe doesn't want to be a sub in a WC year. So let's not write off letting both go.

This would be a bold and, IMO, very risky move.

Soldado is a good striker, but lets not forget he has been struggling to get into the game in both Prem matches so far. It is always, always, always helpful having a seasoned Premier League pro option available. As Defoe showed when running through Palace's defence last week (yes, I know he fluffed it at the end, but the space was created on his own).

All I can say is thank the lord my performance review was a few months ago and these past few weeks will hopefully be distant history by the time the next one comes around

That is all about Service though, I expect there to be more space to exploit at Ashburton Grove this weekend.

Oh and there is new ITK re: Bale in the RO section

I don't think so.

It's certainly partially about service and partially about getting to know the league you're playing in and the defences you're playing against.

Yes I agree it is risky selling two established strikers and replacing them with a player who doesn't even naturally play there, but it is something that I can quite see us doing. On the point of Soldado, I disagree that he has been struggling to get into games, we have just been struggling to pick him out. Players like Soldado and RVN will score goals in any league providing you find them.

You also have to be able to create goals out of nothing.

I don't think Hulk wages are that high from our wage ceiling. My understanding is Ade is our best paid player earning 90k a week.
Last season, when Hulk & Witsel joined Zenit, their captain Denisov went public & said these 2 are being paid too high wages compared to rest of the squad. The said salary to Hulk was 5m euros. Now even considering it is 6m euros thats 5.5m pound a week, which is nearly 105k a week.

If AVB really needs him at Spurs, suppose he can be convinced of a pay cut even by 10k, that should be around Ade's wages.
In that case, sell Ade & get Hulk. At least in Hulk case, he & Soldado can start in XI. I don't think that's possible with Ade.

My personal choice would be - Lamela, Eriksen, a left back & Chriiches. But AVB wants Lamela & Hulk, surely we could work out a deal with the player given the difference is not that much.

I mean, in a Brazilian world cup year, it makes sense to have another international player - surely that should further raise the profile of the club, isn't it ?

Bale is on more than £90k currently... more than Ade, but yes i agree Hulks wages could fit in okay.

Anyone else think that we've been bought by the Brazilian FA and they are gradually getting the entire squad to WHL to prepare them for the WC.

Except Willian......

Cos he's a ****

We have played two games mate, and RVN probably only created 4 goals out of nothing in his whole career.

Hmmm I disagree with that and yes I know we're only 2 games in, but you need to have backups that know the league IMO.

What is more important is to have players that fit the managers plans and systems. Defoe may know the league but he leaves us in a really bad situation where we have no presence up front, so you have to ask yourself does that really leave us in a better position?

If Defoe wants to stay and play what will amount to a super-sub role, I'm OK with that. However I can see him wanting out in roder to get game time somewhere.

Be very surprised if Bale didn't have any interest in United.

Unless in his head he truly is past the point of turning back and 100% set on Madrid
